Just back from a 3 night stay here. On arrival the hotel is clean & in great location to bars, shops & restaurants. We had a 1 bedroom apartment, which is a great size & had a small kitchenette. The patio doors wouldn’t open & when we boiled the kettle it tripped the electric. We informed the staff (who were all lovely) & they rectified these issues. However, the main problem for me was there was no air conditioning! I specifically chose accommodation with a/c as it’s still quite hot at the moment. There was a sign up beside the lifts just stating that, due to unforeseen circumstances, the air conditioning wasn’t working. It made getting dressed a nightmare as we were just constantly sweating. We did get fans but they didn’t really do much. All in all, the staff were nice, hotel in a good location but I wouldn’t stay again.

We normally are not fussy and like a cheap and cheerful but after 11 nights we have to share our thoughts. The main issue was 11 nights with no air con at all. We were told that they had someone coming out to fix it then the next day they put a poster up saying it’s no longer in use. (Leading us to have to buy 2 fans which cost 40 euro). We also had issues with the hot water, it went off and on for hours at a time and at one point we had brown water running from the tap! We had almost full bars for the WiFi but it was terrible and kept disconnecting every few minutes. Our balcony door had a lock but it didn’t work and the doors were very stiff and hard to pull shut. The shower had yellow stains on the drain and looked like it had never been cleaned. The bathroom had a very foul stench of sewage and it was unpleasant. One day after coming back from the beach, the maids had been and they took the dirty towels but left no new clean ones so we had to walk around trying to find somebody. On the last night we asked at reception if they had any showers or towels for us to use on our last day as we had a late flight going home. They said they didn’t have any showers we could use but they would provide towels for the pool. On checkout day we checked out then asked for our towels and they couldn’t provide any. The only positive was a very helpful staff member (the lovely lady with long braids). She was very thoughtful, made everyone feel welcome and was the only saving grace for the hotel. Overall, this hotel is very outdated and needs serious reflection for the price people pay.

Thank you Africamar for another fabulous year in Can Picafort. This is our third visit to this family run Scottish/Mallorcan hotel. It’s the perfect location for a well and truly relaxing break. A huge thank you to Juan and Dedrie and family, for making us feel at home, in your home. Africamar is an inclusive, non judgmental safe space with a welcoming atmosphere. It’s a great place to meet people or find quiet moments to relax. The hotel itself is basic, but sufficiently accessible with adequate facilities. Nothing is too much trouble, simply ask a member of staff and they will bend over backwards to make your stay more comfortable. The rooms are air conditioned which is a life saver. Top Tip: request a fridge, fan, iron and extra pillows from reception. The hotel has a well stocked bar, with a comfortable lounge area and a huge TV, so you don’t miss those important sporting events. You’ll be looked after by Nacho and Melissa on the bar, who are incredible, welcoming and provide you with a top notch service. Top Tip: Try the strawberry mojito from the cocktail menu. The pool area is small, but it has adequate sun loungers and is a safe space for children. The hotel provides a range of pool floats and inflatables free of charge. Top Tip: There’s no need to reserve a sun lounger, the pool area has adequate seating. The hotel is perfectly located, with a variety of bars, shops and restaurants on your door step. There’s even an Aldi just 5 minutes around the corner. It’s really important to us that we contribute to the local economy during our visit. So I’d encourage you to buy drinks at the bar, eat out and purchase items from the local shops. Top tip: For the best English breakfast, pop across to Trotters Bar, situated directly in front of the hotel. For days away from the pool, you’ll find the beach a 10 minute walk away There’s a bus service with a “tap on, tap off” facility if you feel more adventurous, taking you to Palma, Alcudia, Inca or Sa Pablo. Top tip: Catch the 302 to Palma, it takes around 1 hour 30 minutes and enjoy a mid holiday city break, Palma is excellent for shopping and has a variety of museums, galleries and a fabulous Cathedral. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Location is everything and the Africamar will continue to be our preferred holiday of choice for some years to come. See you all again next year. Stayed for 3 night in room only,clean and comfortable. Family staying for 2 weeks, had great time. Staff really friendly and Melissa behind the bar is amazing.

+ points: Location, staff, clean rooms, value for money - points: Struggled to pay for holiday as the link the room management company provide didn't work. Contacting the hotel by phone seems impossible. WiFi. Come on guys its 2025! Why does the WiFi only works in certain areas of the hotel?

This was our 2nd visit to the 'Africamar', after a 37 year gap! Yes, things were different this time. Last time we had 3 young children with us. It was a wonderful surprise to find that it was still owned by the same Family. Meeting their extended Family was great, although it did make us feel old! This time the two of us were simply wanting an easy, relaxing, 'crash-out' week. Our suite was on the 3rd floor, and created from combining 2 bedrooms, with one of the bathrooms converted into a well equipped kitchen. Our long balcony had views down to the sea, and the headlands by Alcudia. We did our own breakfasts and some light-lunches. A bonus was the ALDI supermarket only 200 metres away, along the main road. During the day, it was very relaxing sitting by the pool, enjoying a drink, and chatting with other visitors. The Bar, and reception, services were under the charge of the delightful, hyperactive Melisano. These roles were carried out by Natcho in the evenings. In close proximity to the Hotel, along the path down to the Beach, were a wide choice of Bars & Restaurants, several of which we visited. Yes, we enjoyed our time in and around the Africamar, and would recommend it for those wanting an easy, relaxing time.
