Castello Bonaria Wine & Spa Resort

We took a group of 17 people here on a Wine tour using twelve of their rooms. Good size rooms, clean and comfortable. Our stay was marred by terrible weather so the outdoor facilities were not used but the hotel staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast in the restaurant was good but on our second morning owing to flooding in the restaurant the night before a light breakfast had been set up in the bar. The staff dealt with the flooding extremely well. This is a lovely hill top hotel on a Wine estate and in good weather would be lovely to stay for a few days. We would certainly use Castello Bonaria again.

We stayed here for a wedding which you could not fault and we had a nice stay. The rooms are lovely, beds really comfortable but the curtains in our room did not shut so bring an eye mask. The pool and spa was lovely, shame the pool was so cold as had to warm up in spa after but we made the most of it. Had a lovely head neck and shoulders massage which was so relaxing and lovely. The food for the wedding was so tasty and the breakfast was great, delicious pastries, however the lunch menu was expensive and lacked variety. The main issue with the hotel is the location, it’s great if you have a car if not it’s quite remote. There’s one taxi in the town and was a struggle for others to get so we didn’t explore the area.

This hotel was not on the agenda but after a terrible hotel stay elsewhere, we checked out and discovered this hotel and luckily, they had one room left. The hotel looks like a mock castle from the outside and it’s slightly themed inside which is a little twee but it really didn’t matter as everything else was so perfect. The hotel was spotlessly clean throughout and our room was well proportioned with an outdoor terrace and great views. We had a lounger, deckchair and a table and chairs to enjoy the views. The bathroom was big with toiletries (it would have been nice to see more sustainable packaging) and amenities, a free safe and hairdryer. We also had water, replenished daily, and a mini bar. It was incredibly peaceful and we both slept well. The views from the pool and restaurant were amazing, and we enjoyed lovely sunsets from the outdoor seating area near the bar. The pool was the perfect temperature, very clean and had a jetted area and easy access steps. The loungers had the shades on which was very welcome in the heat we experienced. Possibly one of the best hotel pools I’ve encountered. We had a free spa circuit included in our rate which meant we could use the pool with hydromassage jets, rainfall shower, a salt room, sauna, scented showers and the ice machine. It was a great way to spend our last early evening before dinner and a well equipped hotel spa. The food was delicious although the menu is limited for vegetarians. However, the chef was more than happy to speak with us and come up with some tasty dishes for us which was so kind. Even on the last night when we booked a table late, the team went above and beyond to seat us outside. The cocktails here were great and the staff, Gianluca, Martina and Stefano were so kind to us and gave a great service. The views from the restaurant were stunning. Located just a 15 minute drive from the beautiful Baratti beach, it’s not that far at all to enjoy a day out by the sea but the hotel also provides a relaxing base. We had to leave early for a flight and Martina and Stefano put together a breakfast box for us with a lovely note inside which we read when we got to the airport. We were only there two days and we felt so welcomed and were sad to leave this very special team behind! Overall, beautiful views, exceptionally clean, great food and service. It’s such good value here when you compare what there is nearby and I would definitely stay again and recommend it to family, friends and customers.

This was the second time we returned to Castello Bonaria. It is a beautiful small hotel, great value with a gorgeous pool overlooking the countryside of Tuscany from a hill top. We had an amazing cooking lesson, perfect for all ages. Highly recommended. The staff are friendly and humble, always eager to help. The food is good and breakfast fantastic. The rooms are well renovated and tastefully decorated. Impeccably clean. We highly recommend it for any occasion, a romantic getaway or a family stay. Even nice to consider renting all 19 rooms for a special event. We will be back!

This is a very nice place. Peaceful, elegant without being pretentious. The swimming pool and the facility around it are spectacular. The personnel is very nice and well trained. The breakfast many might deserve some improvement. I really enjoy it

We were fortunate to visit Castello Bonaria for our second visit! It was truly a magnificent experience, We enjoyed the Spa, the staff are so attentive! A huge thank you to Sonia, Enrico and Roberta! We are treated like Royalty! The evening Dinners were Amaxing! We cannot get tired of the splendid views from the restaurant and the swimming pool! Thank you
