Sol Port Cambrils

Visited for a football tournament - room set up was as expected - air con was ok but not as efficient as other hotels I’ve stayed at before. Close to the beach where there are some lovely places to eat / sit for a drink along the front. I’m coeliac and they understood in the restaurant about cross contamination with the tongs, so each day would cook me Something fresh in the kitchen and deliver GF bread. In the morning there is a separate station and toaster. The drinks at the bar were very reasonable too.

We had a really lovely trip to this hotel. The location is excellent, the staff are super friendly and there was a singer one night that was fun to watch. Everywhere was clean, and the pool area was pretty quiet. Bar service was quick and reasonably priced. Hubbie would have liked pool bar but I think they do have one in high season and honestly, he did not have far to walk!!! The room was great, fab shower, massive bed, would possibly pay for pool view next time. Breakfast had plenty of choice - some of food items could have been warmer but you could get freshly cooked omelette and fried eggs which were delicious! The amount of choice was good. I also enjoy a later breakfast after a walk so would be nice for it to go on a bit later but that’s just personal choice, 10am is not too bad to finish!! I would definitely return, it’s just different I think to other resort type places, but we really enjoyed that. A great place to do lots of walking or cycling from too. We didn’t eat here during the day or evening so can’t comment on rest of food but loads of great places to eat locally :)

There are alot of positives about this hotel but when i say the Melia Sol Hotel in Cuba had bette food you will understand. The staff are first class and the rooms are kept very clean The rooms are spacious and modern. I've been to Spain three times this year and Greece four. What let's this hotel down is the food. It's cold and poor quality. I think they should just do a proper breakfast with Dutch or Irish bacon. Basically compared to Greece I stayed at 2 -3 star accommodation and that was room only for the same price as I paid for the Sol Cambrillis At this hotel i had HB ,did not have to pay for Aircon or safe. The prices need to be increased to make sure better food and hot plates are provided. I

Just returned from this hotel. I travel to Spain annually to visit family and try to make a holiday out of it. We normally stay between Cambrills and Salou but couldn't get into our usual hotel, after reading the amazing reviews we decided to book here. Pros: lovely room with everything you need from hairdryer to shampoo. We had a pool view room. Beds were big and comfortable with extra blankets provided which was great as my other half loved the aircon. Quiet hotel. Free Safe and coffee making facilities in the room. Free water in reception. The staff go above and beyond and make you feel so welcome. The hotel is in the perfect location for bars and restaurants. Also close to walk to the beach and easy access to buses into Salou. There is a pool bar. There was entertainment when you ate in the outdoor area which was a nice touch and free drink samples as you walked in. Great orange juice at breakfast and lots of food choice. Lovely sauna and fitness centre. Cons: pool view room means you are overlooking a road. The pool area was not great to be honest. We only tried to sit there for 5 mins and that was enough. The hotel feels more like a conference centre so did not have the holiday vibe we are use to. I felt like I was staying in hotel in London but with sun. Very small bar with long queues in the evening. The outdoor seating area is plagued with flys. The food was often luke warm or cold so we ended up living on bread rolls. Dinner did not start until 8pm so we were eating quite late every night. Overall if you are looking for just a base whilst you explore the local area then this is the perfect place for you but if you want a relaxing holiday around a pool with great shows in the evening then I would stay a little further up the coast.

The negatives first. Cambrills in our opinion isn't suitable if you have mobility problems. Cambrills is very Spanish. Eating places tend to be catered for fish and paella etc If you are a fussy eater you will struggle. Easy jet seem to drop off pick up a good distance from the hotel. Which other guests complained about. Plus they fly to Barcelona which is further away. They said they were on the drop off coach 2 1/2 hours. We used Reus airport 25 mins door to door with Jet2. They are superb. Hotel amazing staff helpful friendly. Everywhere is spotless. Rooms are cleaned every day. Cleaning staff brilliant. Hotel manager is always around. If I was being really picky. We couldn't fault anything. Food excellent.

Can’t fault this hotel. Great location (just a stroll from the beach), spacious rooms, all with a balcony (and a gap between each balcony so you don’t feel on top of your neighbours), comfy beds and nice bathroom with walk in shower, A/C (make sure you close your window so the Air Con starts working!). Super welcoming and friendly staff (special mention to Fiorely at the reception!), nice pool area and fitness centre. First time in Cambrils, and will definitely come back: it is quiet and tourists are for sure in the older side, but if you want to relax and not have kids everywhere, this is the place to be! Plenty of choice in terms of bars and restaurants, follow the Spaniards for the good places to eat! Also mentioned in many comments: there is a big Aldi next door (cross the mini bridge) so you can get drinks and snacks for cheap ;) Port Sol, we will be back!
