Great location in the Bay of a small fisherman's village. The view from the breakfast terrace was beautiful. Service was friendly and easy going. Public parking is available around the corner of the hotel (free from 8 pm to 8 am). Rooms and bathrooms are rather small but for us it was sufficient. Rooms are very quiet as windows to the small street are very well isolated. During our stay there was construction ongoing in the Bay (May 2023) which didn't bother us as we had breakfast before it started.

We are staying at the Pestana Grand and had heard of the quality lunches served at the Pestana Churchill. We walked along the coast and enjoyed the scenery on Wednesday 29 May and easily found the restaurant having asked at the reception which was attended by the most helpful staff member, who gave us a bus timetable for our return ‘home’. Pedro served us lunch, he was kind, polite and welcoming. The food was excellent, scabbard fish just melted in your mouth and the mussels very tasty. Lovely view of the fishing port of Camara de Lobos From the terrace. Would recommend. It was good to meet Winston too.

We were on the Open top bus from Funchal and stopped off in Camara De Lobos. It’s a lovely quiet area and the Pestana Churchill Bay hotel is in a beautiful location on the harbour. We sat outside for refreshments and the service/refreshments were all good. The hotel interior in the reception area was also very nice and outside there is a statue of Winston Churchill painting, the extra seat by the statue is very popular for photo opportunities!

Exceptional service All your staff are a credit to you. The young man on reception kindly extended our check out time until 2pm and also looked after our luggage until 5pm whilst waiting for our airport transfer car to pick us up. All your restaurant staff were exceptionally attentive and very friendly. My husband and l both from day 1 enjoyed Nuno's good sense of humour. Comment 100% satisfied and will definitely recommend you to family and friends if they are visiting Madeira.

Pleasant location with a view. Camara do Lobos has atmosphere, with restaurants and bars and nice views. I stayed in both PESTANA hotels over 4 nights, and this is the quieter one. Comfortable rooms. Daniel on reception is a first class ambassador for Pestana, and this hotel. Nothing was too much trouble, Thankyou.

What a wonderful welcome. We are impressed. We arrived today and had the warmest and informative welcome from Ana Our room is well appointed albeit on the lower floor with beautiful bay views and lush foliage in the balcony. We are currently sitting outside listening to the buz of the village and the waves and watching the twinkling lights over the bay What more could anyone need ?

The Hotel is situated in a beautiful bay for a relaxing holiday in one of the quieter places on Madeira. The Hotel was very clean and comfortable, and all the staff were so friendly and always cheerful. In fact the staff were amazing, and made the stay at Pestana Churchill Bay so much more enjoyable, as they went out of their way to help you with anything.

We loved our stay here!! We spent 3 nights in Funchal and loved it, but it was extra special to be in the small town of Camara de Lobos and staying at the Pestana Churchill Bay. it was an easy taxi ride from Funchal. The staff at check in were great, so informative and friendly. They helped us get a tour organized for a few days later and we loved that too!! We enjoyed our welcome Madeira while waiting to finish check in. Our room was clean and so comfy! The bed and pillows were wonderful. After our tours and levada hikes we were so happy to sit on our second floor balcony and watch the waves and people go by. It was fun to watch the local people out and about in the mornings and at night. There are lots of delicious restaurants within walking distance and the restaurant at the hotel is also very good. The breakfasts are varied with lots of choices. It was so nice to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine and and waves. We really can;t say enough about how much we enjoyed staying here. I was worried we'd feel out of the way, but tons of people came for the day, but would miss the local feeling at night. If you can, it's definitely worth staying here, to feel a part of this beautiful island. We will definitely be back.
