We are just back from a week at Sol Katmandu with our 8yr old granddaughter, and although there were a few things not ideal, all 3 of us agreed it was an excellent holiday. The place is built around kids, and the most important person out the 3 kg us had a brilliant time. Plus points... great to have the theme park attractions to go visit during the day to break things up and get out of the baking sun for a while. Of course, it's not Flotida, but it mainly entertains. The water park area was also well received, albeit the sessions system could be a bit frustrating. Despite some reviews, the buffet restaurant was very good, with plenty choice and food mostly kept hot enough. Kids section was very similar most days, but it stuck to what is mostly popular. And definite praise due for the gluten free options. There's a separate menu which you can order from and get it delivered to your table. The ladies were so helpful and accommodating. The pool area snacks were basic but popular, and went down well with our little one. Negatives... room was pretty cramped and not a lot of storage space for clothes. Evening entertainment wasn't great, although we preferred going out anyway after spending the whole day in the place. The soft play was the one failure for our granddaughter, she thought it a bit dull. But that might be unfair as it seemed popular. The drinks system of tokens and reusable cups us actually quite clever. No glassware, and everyone has to take ownership of their empties. The smallest cup is still pretty huge for wine! Reception were friendly and efficient, and all staff across the whole hotel were excellent. Overall, I'd recommend it for small families, the rooms are a bit small for bigger ones!
