Just look at that view! My friend and I were greeted with that on arrival at The Crags Accessible Pod - owned and run by Callander Youth Project Trust. Located in Callander (Stirling), this self-catering accessible glamping pod is where we stayed for a week-long holiday in Scotland (2nd - 9th June 2023). As a wheelchair user, it can be very difficult to find 'accessible accommodation' that meets all of my needs, so this was a great find! Booking for the accessible pod can only be made over the phone. And before booking, the staff could answer any questions I had and emailed me additional photos of the facilities. Key features include: - Parking spot at the rear of the pod with ramp access to the pod itself. - Wide doorways and a level interior. - Sizeable wet room with shower/changing bench, adjustable-height washbasin, Clos-o-Mat toilet and a level-access shower. - Profile bed (single) in the main bedroom, with ceiling (y-shape) hoist running through to the bathroom. - Lounge area with seating and a well-stocked kitchenette, including a fridge, hob, microwave, instant boiling water tap and dishwasher. The sofa pulls out into a double sofa bed, and an additional zed-bed (fold-out) can be added to accommodate a maximum occupancy of 4. - Outdoor (covered) veranda with extra seating and table. It was very nice, clean, and had everything I needed, except for a wheeled shower chair, but that wasn’t a problem as I took my own. The staff was very friendly and helpful and were very accommodating to our needs and requests. It was like a home away from home (but with better views!) as everything was so easy for me to access. Overall, we had an amazing stay at The Crags Accessible Pod and would stay here again.
