Hotel Rocamarina

We had a great time staying at this hotel. Late check-in was available so gave us flexibility when our flight was delayed and had to arrive in the middle to the night. The breakfast was great with plenty of options. Thanks for the birthday gift also - that was very sweet of you :)

The superior sea view room was worth paying the little extra for. The welcome bottle of wine and cookies much appreciated. The bed could have been more comfortable the mattress being quite hard. Breakfast buffet was varied and the food good.

Visited mid October for a week on a bed and breakfast basis as we like to dine out in local restaurants. The positives we found were:- All staff extremely nice, polite and cheerful. Main areas clean and tidy. Breakfasts were varied and all items topped up when needed. The area around the hotel was convenient for local restaurants, local beach, marina, typical souvenir shops, supermarkets and pharmacy if you need this. The not so good bits:- Don’t bother with a superior sea view room. We upgraded and the room was first floor, 5m to the left was a sun bathing deck which was a bit off putting when you sat on the balcony . The sea view from our room was a bit of a stretch, through a gap in the distance. No problem for us (in our mid 60s) but for the many elder guests the shower was over quite a steep bath, although grab handles are on the walls. In the superior rooms you have slippers (which my wife used) and bathrobes which we didn’t use and had seen better days. Cleaners were lovely however room floors not swept / cleaned, as I found out by walking around in my socks and had to pop down a couple of times to reception as it was overlooked to replenish the coffee and milk sachets. Towels were not up to standard for a 4 star. Entertainment every night, however we only heard this when coming back from the town after dinner. Different singer each night and as we were near and above the lounge where this was taking place we’d hear this from our balcony. None too bad but same songs sang most nights. We went to the beach most days and had a pool day for one day. Sun beds look newish but are all next to each other. Only 90 guests when we left out of a possible 400 plus, dread to think at the height of summer how that’d work out as pool & surrounding areas are quite small for the size of the hotel. Same would apply to the dining / restaurant area. Wouldn’t want to stay here at the height of the season. Overall a nice break for me and my wife and most guests are year on year returning guests mostly of a senior age (nothing wrong with that!) however from Jet 2 we have stayed in far better 4 star hotels
