Mazeej Balad

We stayed for 3 nights and got to experience hotel and restaurant. Loved the hotel! It has few rooms and a very intimate atmosphere. The rooms are very classy, large, tastefully decorated. The floor feels good with its real wood parquet, the shower is great, large, and good quality fittings. I loved the beds the most - very comfortable, the pillows - two types - one hard, one soft. The very high ceilings make you think of an old Italian villa. The restaurant on the terrace is very nice and the staff very accommodating. We much enjoyed their Egyptian mezze and also the special dishes for breakfast. The service though is slow. On the last morning we waited 25 minutes for the (included) breakfast to arrive. Nearly late for the tour ... The best of the hotel was the young lady at the reception - she seems to be the good fairy of the place - calm, friendly, solving any problem in seconds. Her positive 'can do' attitude upgrades the place to a five star establishment. I'm sure she can elevate the restaurant experience as well, given the responsibility of the upper level. Thank you! We heartily recommend the hotel for a couple of days' stay in safe walking distance of Tahrir Square with the Museum and many shopping and dining opportunities.

The rooftop is great, nicely decorated so is the bar area. The staff is courteous and properly dressed. My issue is with the food. The cook needs more training, in other words he is not experienced enough or the hotel owners are not giving him the budget to present and cook good meals. The portions are not correct. The oxtail casserole was about only one small piece of oxtail with lots of onions and too much spices that we couldn’t taste the meat any more!. The Sharkasseya dish (EGP 548) was all rice little chicken and little sauce. I can go on and on. The food in general was too spicy. The Um Ali leaves a lot to be desired. It was very dry. The service is slow, although at lunch time (4 pm) the rooftop was not busy. I am writing this report because the place has the potential to be a nice place. The management must conduct a critical review.

I went to the rooftop restaurant for Iftar. Everything about the place was great. the food, staff, ambiance. It is my kind of place. I loved the details, very elegant and cozy. I highly recommend this place. It is beautiful any time of day or night. If you haven't been there yet, you must go.

The food was mediocre, poor, very little variety, and so salty we couldn’t eat. A major disappointment given the expensive minimum charge. However the ambience is nice but the service not that much. We went as a group of friends to the Rooftop restaurant in Ramadan for Iftar. This is more a bar or a breakfast place than a restaurant. To secure the reservation they made us pay fully in advance. Not to be repeated.

Last night, I had the pleasure of sohour at the Mazeeg Restaurant rooftop, and it was an experience to remember. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the breathtaking view of the city —a perfect blend of elegance and serenity. The ambiance was truly magical, with soft lighting and a gentle breeze setting the perfect mood. And The food was nothing short of exceptional.

Das Hotel ist ausgezeichnet. Beginnend mit den atemberaubenden Kunstwerken am Eingang bis zur Rezeption fühlt man sich als wäre es eine ganz andere Zeit, nämlich der alten warmen Zeit gemischt mit der modernen Zeit von Ägypten. Außerdem sind die Zimmer einzigartig. Insbesondere das Zimmer mit dem Balkon auf der Straße hat mir sehr gut gefallen. All das bei Seit nun, die Terrasse oben ist bezaubernd und das Essen ist ein anders Niveau.
