Stayed at Cairns Plaza for a few nights and found it comfortable and well located. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location is one of its strongest points, right by the Esplanade, an easy walk to the wharf for Great Barrier Reef excursions, and around ten minutes on foot to the night markets and promenade. The room was very clean, genuinely spotless. No insects or critters at all, which really matters in this climate. It was spacious, with a fridge and a good sized balcony. My room had both sea and mountain views, which was a nice bonus. Overall, a solid and reliable hotel. Not luxury, but clean, comfortable, and very convenient for getting around Cairns.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Hotel is clean but sadly there is a strong harsh chemical smell in the room which made me sick. It helps a bit that there is a balcony to air the room out. Bed wasn’t very comfortable.

Great location, 7mins walking distance to city centre. Facilities are relative old. Staff are friendly

Booked a room that had 2 single beds and a queen bed, three people checked in.. Asked for two keys, when one of my friends returned from a night out the key was disabled and the were charged $45 for an extra person in the room.. room was booked for three people.. I did not book a room that fits 2 and tried to sleep three.. receptionist at checkout was not helpful with the situation at all, the guy that checked us in should have asked questions then, instead of locking us out and charging more money.. paid more for a big room and got charged again on top. Motel is fair at best, one of few places that has the room to fit 3-4 people Next time I’ll book two rooms else where

My room was wonderful with a lovely view. It was so quiet. The hotel is conveniently within walking distance of the city centre, the Esplanade and the Marina. The staff were so helpful.

We had an EXCELLENT experience staying at the Cairns Plaza, especially the friendly and helpful welcome upon check in (young women, brown hair, very hospitable). All amenities were great, including the hotel pool. We were just a stones throw from the lagoon and a short stroll to the town centre. The team even held our bags after check out and allowed us to use their pool and changing rooms. Thank you.

Good place

Spent 4 nights at the Cairns Plaza and couldn’t have been happier. Good, clean room. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful and pleasant with it. Excellent location for getting around - 15 mins walk from the reef terminals and 3 mins walk to the bus to the botanical gardens. Very close to cafes/restaurants, the night market and shops. I knew beforehand there was no hotel restaurant but breakfast/meal boxes available to purchase. I would happily go back

I booked my husband here while I was in the private hospital around the corner. It was perfect, he was really happy with the service at reception, the cleanliness of the room and its proximity to everything, the hospital which was an easy walk, the beach, the cbd. We would absolutely stay again. Fantastic thank you!

We had a great two night stay at Cairns Plaza Hotel. Although we were visiting Cairns for the sad circumstances of a funeral, we found the service provided by this hotel to be exemplary. The staff were friendly and approachable - and helpful too with storing our luggage and ensuring our taxi arrived safely. The room was wonderfully clean and the beds very comfortable. Thank you, Cairns Plaza Hotel, for helping us during this difficult time for us.
