Room smelled of dirty mop, particularly the bathroom. Nearly asked for new room but it was 10pm when I checked in, so late to be having to sort this out, plus I thought that all rooms probably smelled the same as it was unlikely that the mop had been changed between cleaning the rooms. The soap dispenser near the sink was rusty and dirty. Why only one measly bath towel and one small hand towel? Just penny pinching. Why, in a nearly empty hotel would you put a guest next to a corridor door that opened and closed with every other guest? The heating was not very effective and did not heat the rooms properly or quickly. It was very cold when I arrived and cold until well into the early hours. Why, oh why, in this day and age was there only a single plug socket and on only one side of the bed? Completely inadequate. The free wifi is clearly designed to be poor enough to make you have to pay for the upgrade in order to watch the tv. It wouldn’t even let me look at the news on my phone. So disappointed in my stay. I have always thought of, and booked, Premier Inn as I felt it was consistent and reliable. Clearly I need to reevaluate.
