Hotel Azar

This is a no frills hotel situated by an industrial estate outside of the town. The rooms were clean but very basic. Onsite parking. Restaurant on site serves expensive but very average food from 8.30pm. Nobody spoke English and communication was difficult. Could not recommend.

Our stay with you on the 1st February 2025 on our way down to Portugal was not a pleasant one due to the room being opposite the lift which disturbed our nights rest due to constant noise from intoxicated residents returning to their rooms up to the early hours of the morning. Added to this, our room illuminated each time the automatic corridor lights came on due to the gap under the entrance door into our room. Televisions were blasting out noise until the early hours in adjacent rooms along with roars of noise from the occupants obviously supporting the football teams they were watching. Lack of Soundproofing of the room and light emissions thoroughly ruined our night’s sleep which is the reason why we have opted to make alternative arrangements on our return journey to Santander. The room itself was clean and comfortable and the location is an ideal stopover for our regular trips down to Portugal, unfortunately we will not be returning and would certainly not recommend your establishment to friends and family. I will be taking this matter up with my credit card provider with a view to claiming back the cancelled accommodation and poor experience on our initial stay, I am happy to give you the opportunity to respond prior to taking further action, however, if no response to this email is made within 14 days I will proceed with taking action up with my credit card provider.

As mentioned by others, this place is in just the right place for an overnight stop to/from the Algarve. Breakfast (not too early) had us checking in just after 3pm in Carvoeiro (not using any of the toll roads on offer). As also mentioned, do not be put off by the location. It even has a handy Leroy Merlin across the road and one of the cheapest (if not the cheapest) Shell petrol station I've ever used further along the road from LM down a wee side street.

Comfortable, quiet and convenient Very clean, very tidy, professional staff. Had quite an attractive quality 50s vibe to the styling of the hotel, but the room was up to speed on comfort and modern needs. Lovely little balcony.Although on a main road the double glazing was excellent and we both slept very well. One thing, an extractor fan in the bathroom is essential! Had a very tasty tomato tostada, freshly squeezed orange juice and good coffee for breakfast in the cafeteria. We were en route to Portugal from France, so didn't actually go into the town this visit. We may book for two nights on the way back in May and go and explore the old town. Excellent parking and very easy access to the motorways.

Staff Great rooms good food excellent. Good place for an overnight on the way to the Algarve stayed 1 night going and coming home reception good and efficient. Good hotel all round menus in Spanish ,English .photos on web are true to picture.

This is a great transit stop hotel. Not in the most picturesque location (on the edge of an industrial park, and not the smarest end of Plasencia), but for a hotel of a quality way above its price point it is highly recommended. Easy to find (very close to the Autovia) with adequate dedicated parking. Room was large, with a superb bathroom, fridge (very welcome) and good storgae space. Our room had a small balcony as well. We ate in the cafeteria for dinner, where the menu is good, wine excellent and the waiter service professional (as one would see in a Michelin star restaurant). Will come back!
