We had a lovely 2 night stay at the Abbey Hotel. Quinton was always on hand for advice on where to eat etc. such lovely staff. The lovely lady at breakfast - sorry we didn’t catch her name - was so welcoming too every morning. Breakfast was beautiful and cooked to order. We will be back in the area and look forward to staying at the Abbey Hotel again soon.

Due to a double booking of the Junior Suite, we were upgraded to a pretty 2 bedroom cottage off the main courtyard. It was lovely, historic and full of character. The master bedroom was huge and extended the entire width of the property. Original beams were exposed and it had an iron fireplace. Bed was super comfy with clean white linen bedding. Kitchen was clean, spacious and had loads of equipment. Cooked breakfast in the hotel was tasty and the waitress was excellent - friendly and efficient. The proprietor gave us a useful map of Bury city centre - very helpful. Also there's a pretty garden with outdoor seating. The Hotel is about a 10 minute walk into Bury. It is a really interesting city with its ancient Cathedral, gorgeous Abbey Gardens (a must see!), St Mary's Church, lots of shops and wonderful fascinating historic buildings. The market (Weds) was brilliant with its buzzy atmosphere. An interesting and memorable visit to this amazing city. We loved it.
