Poinciana Cottages

Great stay love the individual cottages were were a group of 3 sisters and there wonderful husbands, with the cottages your not on top of each other. Well appointed and great hosts, made the most of the BBQ area as well. Thanks.

Fantastic apartment, has everything you need and maintained in perfect condition. Absolutely clean with its own washing machine and a drying rack on the outside covered veranda. Easy to access all the areas of the island being very central with individual carports to park the rental car. Overall amazing value for money, really comfortable bed and nice pillows and blankets. The owners Jackie and Peter, were very courteous and are a wealth of knowledge as to where to visit and have a menu of available tours if required.

Poinciana Cottages are well appointed units in close proximity to the town centre with many local restaurants and clubs delivering great food options. The hosts Jackie and Peter met us with a friendly welcome and provided many island insights for our two week stay. They regularly offered home produce and access to the vegetable garden to compliment our own supplies . The units were clean and comfortable with a private balcony overlooking the valley. It was so quiet and peaceful and made you realise you were on holidays in a stress free environment. A fantastic holiday with many memorable moments. A place to be recommended. Poinciana Cottages are close to the airport but do not suffer from any airport noise whatsoever. The planes do not fly overhead and from the cottages you cannot hear them take off or land. The cottages are situated down a short gravel driveway from the main street, along which is a level concrete footpath which makes the short walk into town quite pleasant (but use the supplied torch if walking at night, as there are no streetlights!). Each cottage is very private with a calming, restful view from the verandah, over well-maintained green fields to Mount Bates. Our recently painted 'Daisy' cottage was fully equipped to a superior standard, making it truly a home away from home for us. The cottage has a bedroom with a HUGE bed and a wardrobe with good hanging space and drawers; large modern bathroom with a great, roomy shower; separate washing machine and tub; kitchen with full fridge, convection/microwave oven, two-burner cooktop, single-drawer dishwasher; dining area; lounge room with TV, CD player, books, overhead fan and gas heater and a verandah with an outdoor setting. A mobile phone for use during your stay as you cannot use your own phone to call (or receive calls from) Norfolk Island numbers - although we could still use our own mobile phone to receive/ring Australian numbers. There is a clothes horse on the verandah and clothes line under the carport. The adjoining carport was a unique and very handy bonus compared to other Norfolk Island accommodation. There is a separate fully equipped common BBQ area. Even though the cottages are serviced once a week, we were supplied with two complete sets of bath towels so we could change them mid-week. The owners Jackie and Peter are lovely people - very unobtrusive but doing all they can to make sure you have a great time. Staying at Poinciana Cottages was a very memorable experience for all the right reasons - faultless and the most complete holiday accommodation experience that we have ever had.

Poinciana Cottages turned out to be an excellent place to stay. The Cottage we stayed in was clean and fresh and well equiped with good quality fixtures and fitting. The bed was comfortable and the front veranda which overlooking a well tendered garden, was a lovely place to have an early morning coffee. Jackie and Peter were very friendly and hospitable. Jackie in particular helped us contact our car hire company, Aloha Rent a Car, when we had a battery problem. Aloha, by the way, were extremely responsive and promptly had us mobile again. The Cottages are well located, easy to find and near to shops. There is an excellent coffee lounge, Latitude 29 near by.

The cottages were light and bright, warm, clean, comfortable, great location and equipped with all the essentials. We were warmly met and greeted be Jackie our host for our week stay and dropped by occasionally to see how we were going. It was relaxing to come back after a busy day and sit on our outside balcony with a cold drink and a beautiful view.
