Trade Winds Country Cottages

If you are looking for a peaceful, quiet, private and beautiful place to holiday, you’ve found the place to stay on Norfolk Island. Rachel and Ian met us at the airport and arranged our car rental. We arrived just in time for the Christmas Pageant and got a feel for the community spirit. Our cottage was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed, including wi-fi. Mornings were enjoyed on the veranda drinking coffee, watching the cows go by, evenings spent ogling at the star filled sky. Our days were filled with exploring the island that was made easy by the all the “must-do” recommendations from Rachel. This was the most relaxing holiday!

If you want to feel the full, friendly, relaxing experience of Norfolk Island then The Trade Winds is THE place to stay. Rachel, Ian, their daughters and puppy Bentley could not have been more welcoming and made us feel that The Trade Winds was where we belonged. We were met at the airport and guided to our cottage where fresh fruit, eggs, wine, cheese & home baked sugar cookies awaited us. Our cottage, Phoebe Adams, was so wonderfully spacious with a central lounge / kitchen area and two king-sized bedrooms, each with an ensuite sized to match, on either end. The whole cottage was spotless and everything we needed was supplied. The pictures on this site don't really do it justice - you can't feel the serenity. Sitting out on the verandah was so tranquil. Our contented sighs and birds being the only the sounds we could hear as we breathed in some of the freshest air on the planet (a measurable fact). Thank you so much Wills family ~ you made our stay on Norfolk Island one we will treasure for ever. I could not recommend The Trade Winds more highly. Do yourself a favour and book in - you will be amazed how relaxed you can feel!

Rachel is a fantastic host - she was totally committed to making our holiday as good as possible. Fresh eggs & produce were delivered free or better than local prices when available & every concern was managed. The rural location does make walking into town impractical but is more than compensated by the peaceful rustic setting, and the free car inclusion. The cottages (like all island accom) are not new but in excellent condition with new linen & fully equipped, including good wi-fi. The tariff turned out to be excellent value once we saw the standard of comparitive accom available on NI. It is a great base to explore & enjoy the island. We loved being there.
