We stayed in the Allium Suite for three nights in October for my partners birthday, he is 6'6" so needed a room with a king sized bed and a shower he could fit under. I choose this hotel based on location and prior reviews. We were not disappointed. Our suite was a delight, breakfast was high quality and supper was stunning with a world class wine list. Prior to arrival, I made a special request for our first evening in the restaurant, which was confirmed ahead of time and did not disappoint. We found a convenient parking space each evening right outside the hotel without the need to use their sister hotels parking facility. The Lamb Inn has a beautiful garden and has an old world charm, cozy fires, great service and staff give you a sense of belonging, nothing is too much trouble. We are well travelled people. If something is "off" we call it out. We ate there every night because it was so good! We went to Clarkson's Farm, Clarkson's Pub, Burford Garden Centre (this was incredible on every single level), The Royal Oak Pub (on Whitney Street, they serve Wadsworth Bitter), fantastic barman and great prices. He recommended the Carpenters Arms in Fulbrook. We had a stunning lunch there and beyond fantastic service. We walked to the top of the high Street and took our time walking down the hill, took in the river Windrush by the Priory, which was a delight and took a left after the river to find the Carpenters Arms. We popped into the Burford Museum on the corner of Sheep Street which was really interesting. The countryside is beautiful; the people are sincere, interested and interesting.
