Widemouth Manor

The curtains had mould on them. The window didn't shut. The room smelt damp and the towels were damp. The shower gel was a half used tube. The milk jug had a scum mark on it. The hotel promised a refund and it never arrived. It was a very bad experience.

Went to the restaurant for a relaxing evening meal. Should have stayed home, this restaurant should be called shut your mouth manor. The service was ridiculously slow. If you remember Chevy chases Christmas film when the turkey arrived at the table and exploded - is what my husband was served, as piri piri chicken & was also burnt. I had what was described as cod, I have my doubts. I never write reviews but I was so furious at how they are treating tourists. We refused to pay for my husbands meal and the manager was totally unconcerned.

Grim …. A tortuously long wait for some over cooked food . Really disappointing . Clearly complacent about holiday trade and reliant on the locality ; the viewpoint is its strongpoint. It’s certainly not the quality of the food nor the efficiency of service .

Beautiful sea views and a friendly manager but the hotel is in need of restoration and cleaning. Breakfast was disappointing with no cereals or fresh fruit. Food in the bar was ok. The pictures do not reflect today’s conditions. I won’t be returning.

Lovely little hotel. Booked last minute and arrived quite late at 8:30pm but a warm welcome and taken to room. The room was a single, it was immaculately clean, compact but clean bathroom. The TV was tiny and in an awkward position but didn't notice it until later as wasn't interested in watching tv. The surprise I didn't expect was a door that led onto an astroturfed terrace area with two seats, one side a countryside view and the other the sea! The breakfast room also came with a sea view, breakfast came fast with friendly service. Not a big breakfast in terms of quantity, it's not one of those pile high ones which I actually quite like that it wasn't, instead big on flavour. Lovely coffee too. Free parking, great spot by the beach, really lovely hotel. Definitely not a chain hotel, lots of personality.

Booked in advance. Arrived in the dark to find all doors locked& no lights on . We were told the hotel does not open on Sundays ?, dispute taking our booking ? We were given our key & left to find our own room , which was cold & very much smaller than looked on clever photos. The room was advertised as having a wet room , which it absolutely was not ! It was a badly converted cupboard with a toilet & shower over it ,with no wash hand basin . The door was a glass shower cubicle door therefore had no privacy whatsoever ever . The bed frame was collapsed & decor & bedding dated & tired . The lounge & dining area was very tired with some damaged furniture. The whole area requires a re- fresh & new furniture. The whole experience was really not good & over priced .
