We had a fabulous holiday using the Globe as a jump off point for our day trips all around Devon and Cornwall, neil ( the stand in manager!) Was so helpful in our daily trips as he is a wealth of information on both devon and Cornwall! We have english heritage and National trust memberships so that made our days cheaper, but still took in some old haunts from our past and some new ones with help of Neil! The Globe room (room two) was pretty large and had plenty of drawers and wardrobe space and the bed comphortable, bedding and towels changed twice weekly, a water dispenser on the passageway, the room also had a wet room, very good, shower was very good, The breakfast excellent, evening meals are very good but the selection could be better! (The Globe was taken over four months ago so there still finding there feet!) Downside was no food on Sunday and Monday evenings, there is a chienese takeaway just 75 yards away and you can eat it in the Glode restraunt, but even that's closed Monday evening so be prepared drive out for tea? The village is small but has a co-op just a few yards round the corner that has late hours they also sell sandwiches, Beer was adequate, Staff all very friendly and helpful, there is a steam railway close by for steam train rides to town and back, and also a butterfly and otter farm at the same place, and buckfast abby in the next village, only a mile or so, that's an ancient Abbey that looks new! It's amazing In the Globe expect a little noise Friday and Saturday nights, as you are above a public house, 😉 it didn't bother us though! There's a fushshop opposite which in room two you look over? Very good fish and chips also! There's cafes in the street so can get a good cup of coffee In all a very nice stay and will probably use it again in the future,
