Travelodge Great Yarmouth Acle

This hotel is on the up ! Currently renovating and it’s lovely in the new rooms , I have been here 3 weeks and seen a massive improvement so please did-regard the old reviews and look at it with an open mind , the renovations include usb ports near the bed , BLACKOUT BLINDS !! Etc KIRSTY (I believe is the manager) is the best most helpful hotel staff I have ever met , I was working nights and she suggested hanging towels over the curtains too block out some light , this made a massive improvement too my beauty sleep 💤 , any issues she is straight onto it finding a solution , one week I got located in a room that was noisy , went and see her , a few minutes later I was re-located too a bigger , much nicer , silent room , can’t say enough

Wouldn't book here again. Booked a family room but was given a normal room that smelt like something had died in there. Thankfully was given a family room but was very basic and run down. Taps in the bathroom needed a good clean.

For £35, good location, good-sized room (got two extra small beds as must have been a family room), standard amenities (kettle, instant coffee, tea, UHT milk pots, etc), bathroom clean enough with plenty of hot water (though low water pressure), best to bring your own toiletries. Staff were great so I would recommend on that alone - makes a huge difference. Drawbacks - mattress caused back pain as not great, and this is in a service forecourt - petrol station, Starbucks - handy but a driver decided to rev engine for some time at 1 am and took awhile to fall back asleep afterwards.

As I was visiting family I just needed somewhere to sleep and shower so this was perfectly situated.

We've stayed at this Travelodge many times including in the last few months. It's convenient for the boards and other tourist attractions. Can be great value, although little atmosphere compared to some of the inns in the area. Lady on duty on check in can be somewhat abrupt. Other staff are generally more obliging. Our room hadn't been cleaned properly and didn't appear to have been vacuumed - there were food particles/crumbs on the carpet from previous guests - maybe they had been short staffed over the Christmas and New Year period or something but this was disappointing. The rest of the room was clean enough although there was considerable dust in the bathroom fan vent. It was nice to get an upgrade to a family room as this had a small bath tub with a shower above (most rooms have just a shower) plus a table area. The car park is spacious but does get very busy and it has a lot of pot holes. There's a Starbucks on site and a large petrol station shop (with M&S Foodstore) but no pub or restaurant on site. There are a couple of pubs that do food a short walk away and some takeaways. The small pizza/kebab shop (Olivetree) is particularly good and does deliver. It's very popular with tradespeople and roadworkers - so much so that they have taken to putting signs up asking for work boots to be removed upon entry.

Travelodge are convenient and reasonably priced. The newer and upgraded Hotels are a significant improvement. A late last minute booking after a long working day, all I wanted was a shower and bed. No Soap in dispensers, not really good enough. Sure this is a rare issue but please keep on top of things Travelodge.
