Motel 6 Brinkley, AR

The only reason I give this two stars is the front office check in was friendly and efficient and the A/C in the room worked well. The room itself was just.. sad. The towels might have been white years ago, but now were dingy grey/brown and with darker stains. Mysterious brown liquid had dried up on the walls (with long drip trails to the floor). The bed spread had multiple cigarette burns (this was supposed to be a non-smoking room, but reeked of old smoke that permeated all my belongings long after I left). The sheets were also stained. The pillowcases were so threadbare you could see the markings of the yellowed pillows through them. Bathroom had a rather large hole that was filled in with toilet paper? Had I not been so tired, I probably would have left, but I stayed long enough to get some sleep and left very early in the morning. Hotel management, please invest in new towels/linens - this would go a very long way! And repaint/repair your walls. An ozone machine would help nullify the smells.

While traveling cross country with a dog. We've been staying in Motel 6's and Red Roof inns. We spent one night here finding it an older hotel but clean and comfortable. We would stay here again if in the area. I will highly recommend.........

I usually go by reviews when I book a hotel. Whoever the people were that wrote good reviews have very low expectations. I have seen better hotels in third world countries. Filthy and disgusting, with Crack heads outside screaming all night. I am pleading with you...don't stay here!!!

I am old enough to remember commercials for Motel 6 that said, 'We leave the light on for you,' spoken by a celebrity as it to say the chain cared. The Motel 6 chain does not care, but individual motels demonstrate different degrees of excellence and care I have found. This Motel 5 in Brinkley is superlative for its kind. A asked for and got a quiet room with plenty of towels, clean floors, a decent little microwave and refrigerator, sinks and tub with stoppers, and plenty of hot water. The heater was noisy but friendly keeping the chill of this early winter out of the room. The coffee in the lobby was from a conventional brewing device, not a thermos, although there was a thermos of plain water available for those who wanted to drink tea. The managers were friendly and efficient and human. While I did not intend to stop in Brinkely, I am pleased that I did in my trip from the edge of the Pacific Ocean at Pt Reyes Station to Chicago at the edge of the Great Lakes. Lee David Engdahl.
