Welcome to my home! This cottage was built in the 1820's in the historical town of Paris, Virginia! With lots of history and character this house still has some of the original exposed beams and hardwood flooring! If you enjoy the outdoors, wineries, breweries, and shopping this is a perfect location for your stay! Minutes from the Appalachian trail, Shenandoah River, Middleburg and Sky Meadows park there’s plenty of hiking around. Famous Ashby Inn restaurant is just a short walk away and many more amazing places!This is my personal home, so I do leave a few things in the home but out of your way. Come visit the beautiful town of Paris today! As a side note: this is a rural area and sometimes the internet can be spotty. Unfortunately we do not have access to high speed internet out here, but the hotspot I provide I believe does provide you with the best available option. Though the grounds are only an hour from Washington DC, Cedarbank feels like a world apart, providing relaxing views and 7 tranquil acres for the perfect rejuvenating country escape.* See notes about our amenities. *THE SPACEYou’ll have access to our peaceful grounds - 7 acres of quiet woodland - with nature at your front step.The house has 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms, a modern kitchen, dining room, and large living room with stone fireplace.Outside, you can take advantage of the front patio for al fresco dining, use the grill, or swing in the hammocks. The Appalachian Trail crosses our road just 1 mile north, stellar Linden Vineyards is immediately adjacent, and scenic Shenandoah Valley is 15 minutes away.Dogs are allowed, up to two total per stay. We have cats on the property, so please monitor your dogs while outside.We welcome children of all ages. The cabin does not have toddler safety measures such as locks on low cabinets or outlet covers, but there is a portable crib provided.GUEST ACCESSYou’ll have access to our entire house except a locked garage. There is a barn on the property which is also locked. Otherwise, you'll have access to the rest of the property adjacent to the cabin. We live on the property, too, but are just over a ridge. Please make yourself at home!SOME VERY IMPORTANT NOTESDRIVEWAY: Our driveway is steep and graveled, and can be difficult for small passenger cars to get up especially during wet, snowy, or icy conditions. We recommend using a 4WD vehicle if possible. We are not responsible for you getting up the driveway, and will not provide refunds if you can’t make it up for any reason, including weather. The country is a wonderful place to relax, but it comes with some challenges, too. INTERNET: Our internet connection is slow. We estimate average speeds to be around 5 Mbps. Email and texting work fine, and Zoom works okay. Sending large files or streaming video may be difficult. TV: We do not have a television in the cabin.GUEST COUNT: No parties, and no additional guests beyond the (up to) 4 guests booked. Guests beyond the confirmed amount will be reported to VRBO (per our local restrictions).SECURITY: One outdoor security camera shows who is coming and going, but for your privacy, only the driveway and front door are visible – we can send you a picture from the camera if you'd like.NOISE: Our tiny valley is very sleepy and quiet. It’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy the calm of the country. We’ll also be your neighbors during your stay. Cedarbank is not a place for parties. Also, because sound travels easily, please no loud conversations after dark and no music outside at any time.CRITTERS: You’ll be surrounded by nature, and with that comes a few friendly (and sometimes furry) visitors! The Atoka House is a beautiful log cabin with the original part dating back to the late 1700's. The home has 2 full bedrooms and sleeps 6 and 2.5 bathrooms. The property is 5 minutes from Middleburg and Upperville, and 10 minutes to The Plains and Marshall. When you step through the front door, you are greeted by the original log cabin. There is a guest bedroom on the main floor with a full bath and a bathtub. A washer and dryer are also on the main floor. The kitchen has a coffee bar and all standard kitchen amenities. The kitchen also has access to the wrap around deck with stunning sunset views.Upstairs, you will find a warm and cozy family room with original hardwood floors, logs and beams. This room also includes a pull out queen size couch and a 55" smart TV. The primary bedroom has a king bed, incredible views to the west and the bathroom has a large walk-in shower with heated floor.Sit and relax on the brand new Trex deck and watch the beautiful sunsets. The house also includes a propane grill and a fire pit. LARGE 6 HOUR EVENT - up to 60 total guests - $3000.00This event fee includes use of the Event Overlook with seating for 60 guests, a gazebo, use of the 10 picnic tables, extra trash removal, and additional guest parking. If your event takes place outdoors, loud music must stop at 10:00 PM for the comfort of other guests on the Farm. Sorry - no tents or port-a-johns are permitted. In case of inclement weather, the Farmhouse can accommodate 60 guests inside. We will send you an event agreement to review and sign. SHOPPING - We are 45 minutes away from Potomac Mills Outlet Mall, one of the largest indoor shopping malls on the East coast. You will enjoy the one mile adventure of discovering new/unique stores and finding great prices too. WINE TOURS - Friends of ours have a Trolley Transport Service (ciaobellacelebrations.com) and would be delighted to suggest some of the favorite vineyards (22 in our area) that you could visit to sample their great wines. ABSOLUTELY NO BUSES allowed on the farm (no place to turn around). Our suggestion would be to drive to the end of our farm and then park at Giant Food Store where the bus can meet you. The store is about a 1/2 mile away and an easy walk or ride from the Farmhouse. Our Caretakers live in a separate/secluded location on the farm for your convenience.One night visits, or "extend your stay" may be possible at certain times of the year with an extra fee or 1/2 price.
