Camp Fjordbotn

We stayed at the campsite for 5 days while hiking in the area and had a larger tent with us. We overall had a very nice stay. Few comments below. The good: + fresh and new sanitary facilities (no coins / timers and cleaned twice a day). You basically have access to multiple bathrooms with a good shower, toilet and sink (see below as well) + the location (secluded and great view from most camping places and close to trailheads of various hikes). + large, clean and very well equipped kitchen + restaurant / bar at the campsite, open late + playground for kids (cleverly placed to not disturb anyone) + Friendly staff + option to buy basic groceries in the store on the camping or fresh / baked bread. + Free Wifi The not so good: - The 4 bathrooms (shower, toilet, sink) are from time to time not enough (if there are many visitors). It would have been smarter to split the shower & toilets like on most campsites, as now people that shower also 'block' a toilet and/or a sink. - The campsite is mainly focussed on either: Camper vans (the majority), those that rent a cabin, or those that are trekking with small tents (there is a large field to put up your tent), but not so much on people with either ar larger family tent (that would like to use electricity) or people with a trailer tent. Lastly, what was a bit surprising to us was that when we arrived and asked for a spot for our (larger) tent near the water or alternatively at a spot close to the reception area (we didn't make a booking upfront, but the places were available / not booked). We were told by a relatively young guy at the reception, that these spots were only for camper vans and that 'because of the 4 meter distance rule' we weren't able to put up our tent in the area. Instead we were directed to the tent area (mainly meant for shorter visits / no electricity). This in itself would have been fine, had it not been for the fact that two days later we saw tents being put up at both spots we had requested.

Great starting point for the fabulous scenic route on Senja island. Nicely and calmly located directly at the fjord. Excellent facilities (especially the showers). Best trampolines for kids in Northern Norway (our kids said!).

Idyllic location, stayed in a little cabin with direct fjord view. Super helpful owner. Clean and spacious showers and kitchen. Close to Husøy, Fjordgard, Botnham ferry and Laukavic beach. Highly recommendable.

Super clean and tidy place! The staff is warm and welcoming, super helpful with everything. The camping is close to all the great hikes and has a beautiful scenery. Book this and you won’t be disappointed!
