Rote Wand Gourmet Hotel, a Member of Design Hotels

My partner and I had a wonderful long-weekend stay that exceeded all our expectations. The place had an authentic Alpine charm that made us feel like we were in a cozy mountain retreat. The personalized service was exceptional, making us feel truly special and welcome from the moment we arrived. One of the highlights of our stay was the delightful home-made cakes served in the afternoon! It was such a super nice touch and added a warm, homey feel to our experience. Each day, we eagerly looked forward to enjoying these delicious treats - we could not resist :) The gourmet highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the Chef’s Table. The culinary experience was nothing short of amazing, with exquisite dishes that showcased the chef's creativity and skill. It was a true feast for the senses and an unforgettable dining experience. Overall, our stay was perfect in every way, and we can't wait to return. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a charming and memorable Alpine getaway!

This place is dialed in to having the most relaxing, fun, and gourmet Alps experience. The location is gorgeous with easy access to skiing and to town (via shuttle). The food is wonderful, the beds so comfortable and cozy, the spa/sauna/pool clean and lovely. But the staff is exceptional. In addition to being incredibly helpful, they are polite, funny, interesting, kind, go above and beyond, and engaging. Everyone seems very happy to be there and to be part of your experience. Top notch. Top notch! Cannot wait to return.

This hotel just gets better and better every year. Together with Joschi and Natascha, the next generation in the family developed a really cool experience for the guests to enjoy at the RW (of course, the Stube and the classics still remain!). I still believe this is one of the best alpine hotels in the whole alps. Try the Friends and Fools experiences and the chefs table (a must!)

What was surprisingly disappointing after a nice experience last year? We stayed in a family lodge, cozy, incredible view and clean. We were so looking forward to a relaxing evening and a delicious dinner like last year…but -we were seated on a mini-table the size of a coffee table between two other families also trying to dine on coffee tables with their numerous dogs. No room for drinks, no room for mixing their salads, loud, everything but comfortable and relaxing after a 5 hour drive. -Silverware came in a large box, like Oktoberfest. Which was understandable during the height of Corona. In my opinion this is not gourmet standard- certainly not Falstaff standard. The Silverware box was half the size of the little table we were trying to eat on. The service personnel was piling bread and appetizers on top of the boxes on the coffee-tables in our vicinity, as there was no space on the tables. We simply didn’t’ get it as we reserved our vacation a year ago. Is the restaurant overbooked? Despite mentioning that we did not like the table, we were not offered a different option. To say the least my family and I were sad… -then the long awaited meal arrived (which I am not calling a dinner). The food was everything but a “gourmet” experience. Something went wrong in the kitchen: Risotto Soup was like glue, the Salmon and side had no taste at all, then the other extreme, my daughters onion ravioli was over flavoured and you could not eat it. -my husband then suspected what is different- the chef must have changed. -we mentioned our disappointment to our service- no response, no reaction, no visit from a manager. And yes the chef changed. We kindly and politely let them know that the food was not to our expectations. Yet no-one did anything. -So we wrote a concerned email…no response over two days. Note we are only staying for a week?! Other hotels we have experienced where something went wrong or not as you planned, left a note in your room or did some type of gesture. All we wanted was an apology. -So we decided to eat elsewhere the next night…but we ofcourse wanted to eat at the hotel we were staying at, so we gave it another try on day 3. -On the third night, I kindly asked to have our silverware set at the table…response was- the owner wants it this way since Corona. So I set the table for my family every night as I do at home… -As mentioned the lodge is cozy, but it should be noted that after all the not so nice meal experiences we start to notice other things -the bathrooms are in need of renovation, our bathroom had a leak coming from the ceiling above, no-one did anything - the spa steambath was smelly- last year the steam bath smelled of herbs -the indoor pool is too small for the number of guests -the spa area is not relaxing, a line up of lounge chairs -inexperienced staff, no team spirit -owners don’t really great their guests anymore, we missed the Austrian personal touch. -parking now costs 29 Euro per night-

Von dem Moment an, als ich die Rote Wand betrat, wusste ich, dass dies kein gewöhnliches Hotel ist. Dieses familiengeführte Designhotel hat mich in jeder Hinsicht überwältigt – von der unglaublichen Gastfreundschaft bis hin zur Liebe zum Detail. Doch das absolute Highlight meines Aufenthalts war das kulinarische Angebot, das selbst die höchsten Erwartungen übertroffen hat. Als leidenschaftlicher Foodie war ich im Himmel. Die Rote Wand bietet ein kulinarisches Eldorado, das wirklich alles umfasst: Von bürgerlichen Klassikern bis hin zu super kreativen Gourmet-Erlebnissen. Die Vollpension Deluxe ließ keine Wünsche offen – den ganzen Tag über konnte man schlemmen. Vom à la carte Frühstück, über das täglich wechselnde Mittagessen, das grandiose Kuchenbuffet am Nachmittag, bis hin zum mehrgängigen Gourmet Dinner am Abend – hier wird man verwöhnt. Ein absolutes Highlight war die Gourmet Experience am Chef’s Table, wo ich Gerichte genießen durfte, die mit 18,5 Gault Millau Punkten ausgezeichnet wurden. Der Friends and Fools Food Event zum Thema Fermentieren war nicht nur lehrreich, sondern auch ein unvergessliches kulinarisches Erlebnis. Und wer kann schon behaupten, seinen Fisch fürs Mittagessen selbst gefangen oder im Food Lab die Kunst des Wurstmachens gelernt zu haben? Das Spa der Rote Wand ist ebenso beeindruckend wie das kulinarische Angebot. Der große Outdoorpool und die weitläufige Saunalandschaft bieten die perfekte Möglichkeit, nach einem erlebnisreichen Tag zu entspannen. Wer wie ich auch gerne aktiv ist, findet direkt vor der Tür zahlreiche Wanderwege, die das Hotel zum idealen Ausgangspunkt machen. Und als Golfliebhaber war ich begeistert, dass sich ein Golfplatz in Gehweite befindet. Was dieses Hotel besonders macht, ist die herzliche Atmosphäre und die spürbare Liebe zum Detail, die in jedem Winkel zu finden ist. Es gibt ständig kreative Überraschungen – ich konnte meinen eigenen Fisch fangen und im Food Lab etwas Neues lernen, was den Aufenthalt einzigartig gemacht hat. Die Rote Wand ist mehr als nur ein Hotel – es ist ein Ort, an den man gerne zurückkehrt, um sich verwöhnen zu lassen, Neues zu entdecken und einfach das Leben zu genießen. Ein absoluter Geheimtipp für alle, die das Besondere suchen.

schon bei der ankunft hatte man das gefühl, ja der urlaub kann beginnen. es war ein traum. wir wurden mit einer freundlichkeit empfangen die heutzutage nicht selbstvertändlich ist. das zimmer war auch schon fertig und so konnten wir gleich in den urlaub starten und uns auf die pisten schwingen. das zimmer war sehr geräumig mit balkon so konnten wir die morgensonne geniessen und man hatte noch platz sich zu bewegen was oft nicht der fall ist. beim frühstück war für jeden geschmack was dabei man hat nichts vermisst. nachmittags zur skijause gab es auch täglich wechselnde kleinigkeiten auch wieder liebevoll zubereitet und vom abendmenu wollen wir erst gar nicht sprechen einfach ein gedicht von der vorspeise zur suppe, drei hauptgerichte-fleich fisch vegetarisch-und nachspeise einfach eine gaumenfreude. die freundlichkeit des servicpersonals einfach super man musste sich einfach wohlfühlen. danach noch auf einen drink wo man genauso freundlich bedient wurde wie von all den anderen einfach urlaub vom feinsten.man kann nur sagen wer einmal in der roten wand urlaub gemacht hat kommt sicher immer wieder das ist nun mal so......einfach zum wohlfühlen und die seele baumeln lasse das ist urlaub in der roten wand
