The Victorian Inn Blowing Rock

Charming Room, friendly house manager Blowing Rock is a charming small town in the mountains. The Victorian Inn is an easy walk to the Main Street, with shops and restaurants. The town and inn are very quiet, with self-check to get in.

The room was clean and updated. The fridge, Keurig and wine glasses were a nice added touch. It’s a great location, easy walking distance to town. The Famous Toastry is right across the street for breakfast. My only issue was the TV and Wi-Fi. They advertised they had Hulu Live. We ate an early dinner and were back in the room by 7PM. We tried for an hour to figure out how to work the Hulu Live and when I texted Karen the manager she tried to help but finally said they only have 2 live accounts. I tried to mirror my phone on the TV but apparently it wasn’t a smart TV. I tried to watch tv on my phone but the internet connection was horrible. We don’t have a Roku and it was very hard to find anything current to watch. My husband could only find Leave It To Beaver to watch and he fell asleep at 8. That was the only disappointment with the room. I feel they need to upgrade the TV situation. I’ll give them the benefit of doubt for the Wi-Fi. Possibly it is so slow from Hurricane Helene, if not they need to fix that too. Otherwise the room was a good value.

Beautiful, clean room. Well appointed, supplied and decorated. The site manager Karen is amazing! She was in contact regularly to ensure our visit was enjoyable. The inn is within walking distance of the shops and places to eat. Five star!!!

The bed was comfortable and location was great.

I stayed here just one night and it was so cozy I would've been more than content to stay another night or two. I was traveling solo and chose the Victorian Inn based on location and reviews. Blowing Rock's small downtown area doesn't include traditional chain hotels so you have your choice of small inns. On the day of check-in I received a text with all of the info I needed for a contactless, seamless check-in. I also received a phone call from a kind woman at the inn making sure I had all details. Upon arrival I was momentarily unsure where to park (you're asked to park in a certain numbered space) but the lot is tiny and the numbers weren't easy to see right away. But I figured it out quickly and pulled into my spot (kind of tight if a few larger vehicles). I'd booked a room on the 2nd floor with a small balcony, and entrance was around the side of the house. The keypad is easy to use but you have to touch a number before the pad lights up, which I had no problems with but I could see it might be tricky at night with any vision issues. The room was quite lovely and well appointed. The bed was comfortable and linens soft. An overhead fan was a nice addition, as well as the window AC unit (you turn on when you arrive) - a must for my mid-July visit. There's a small table and 2 chairs, fridge, Keurig, a couple bags of cookies, wine opener. The bathroom is very spacious with modern amenities and fluffy towels. The inn providing a Hulu account on the TV was a thoughtful touch, as I don't tend to log into my own streaming services when traveling (though all streaming options there if you prefer to). The space was very clean and had lots of natural light. The only "cons" might be the lack of room darkening shades on windows (just standard blinds) so the room gets bright when the sun comes up, and the noise from the AC unit. Neither of these bothered me (I was up early anyway and I sleep in ear plugs!) but just noting for the future traveler. I didn't get to enjoy coffee on my little balcony as I'd hoped but it's a nice touch. The house next door doesn't provide the prettiest view but otherwise it's a nice option to step out for fresh air. The property has some gardens in the back I think though I didn't get to check them out. The location is fantastic for walking downtown. Just around the corner from the brewery (great patio out back, super nice staff, the fried chicken sandwich and green beans were delish!). The wine shop next door to that offers a nice porch for a glass of wine. There are tons of cute boutiques (note they all close about 6pm) and a lovely park at the center with gorgeous flowers and landscaping. Take a moment to just sit on the benches along the main street above the flowers and enjoy the quiet hubbub. If you enjoy walks for exercise, it's all sidewalks with a mix of flat and slight incline from the inn and around the downtown area.
