We recently attended a wedding here and it was incredible! The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Marcel creates such a welcoming environment, he makes you feel like Mt. Irvine is your home. The breakfast buffet was delicious (kudos to the terrific omelette chef!) The activities that were planned (glass bottom boat tour, the welcome party and the beach wedding) were all next level! There were so many personal touches that made this an epic, once in a lifetime experience. If I were planning a wedding- I would replicate every single detail because Mt. Irvine Bay Resort went so far above and beyond! Thank you for everything, we will never forget your gracious hospitality!

This hotel has the potential to be great and I think it once was, it needs a great deal of investment to get it back to that standard. The website is seriously out of date, there is no golf course and when we were there I it was so quiet it was like a ghost hotel. The staff were helpful and attentive but the menu was poor and lacking in choices and availability, particularly in the evenings. The restaurant was often deserted too. Our room was acceptable but tired and dated, although very clean. The beach is lovely and was the highlight of this trip. The grounds are full of empty rundown cottages that are no longer safe to use. Tobago is a beautiful island with lovely friendly people but this hotel was sadly lacking and a big disappointment.

We were in Tobago for one night on a business trip, and the review by a YouTuber convinced us that the resort was worth the money. Our flight over from Trinidad was delayed and as such we arrived at the hotel at approximately 5:00 pm. Check-in was straightforward, but when we were taken to our assigned room, the drama began. The room was not ready, and the attendant( the same person who checked us in) quickly shut the door and said it's not ready. A foul scent hit us at the same time. We were then given an upgrade of sorts with an ocean view and a king bed. Towels had to be brought in, and they were pretty worn as well. The bedding was fresh and clean..a plus there. This room also had an odor that eventually improved as the AC kicked in. Coffee station in the room was lacking, one one pack of sugar and no creamer. At around 7:30 pm we headed down to the Sugar Mill Restaurant for dinner but with only 3 items available on the entire menu we promptly left for Crown Point and the Brown Cow.(A favorite of ours). The next morning, breakfast was adequate, and on looking at the hotel grounds, one could see that it was once a beautiful one. I remember it being so when I was a boy about 50 years ago. The golf course has been closed now for over 4 years. What a missed opportunity here. It's a shame that the owners try to sell this as a resort...I can only imagine how disappointing it must be for our foreign visitors.

The Beach Bar staff were blasting music on Easter Sunday disturbing people’s peace and enjoyment of the PUBLIC beach. I have asked them to turn it down twice now and they just turn it back up. I won’t be staying for lunch now. They are obviously pleasing themselves instead of their patrons…. And they don’t own the beach

Just coming to the last 24 hours of our stay here at Mount Irvine. We have had an excellent stay. I was a little worried having read reviews having booked through BA Holidays. Yes the resort is 50 plus years and is a little frayed around the edges. Like most places we visited and people we spoke to there has been a lot of struggles since Covid. The staff, man or woman were exceptional and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was beautifully cleaned every day, fresh towels provided together with two bottles of water. It was very quiet, no more than a handful of guests each night, it was like having a private pool with butler service. If you want a lively resort it is probably not the place for you at the moment. If you want peace and tranquility, don’t mind a bit of walking(taxis can be easily arranged by reception). We did a tour of the island, arranged through Sunshine Tours who also provided transfers to and from the airport. All in all an excellent at a very reasonable price for a Caribbean Experience.

Overall the experience was good value for money. If we had not had such a great deal from BA it would be 4/5. We stay in lots of fantastic resorts and hotels, but they often lack any heart or soul. I can honestly say we'll always remember the staff at this hotel. They are a big part of our positive experience. Reception, were always there, going above and beyond tp make sure we enjoyed our stay. Catering staff were excellent and housekeeping are on fire! Breakfast was outstanding and the breakfast area was gorgeous. The hotel pool was always lovely and quiet. The proximity to a beautiful beach and beach bar as well as other local amnefies couldn't be more perfect. We benefitted from an upgraded room. Looking at other hotels these rooms seem to be the best. This is only to help and not a criticism but it would be great to get more of a caribbean vibe. Having background music in reception and public areas would be nice. A small rum punch on arrival, maybe some nice local flowers on reception would make a better entrance. In the room, a TV that works would be good. Wifi is patchy. A nespresso machine in upgraded rooms would be nice. More coffee creamer and nicer cups would be a small improvement. Coffee at breakfast needs to be better. Paint the hotel! The colours are a bit depressing. Maybe get a local artist to paint onto the cottages, giving each room some personality. Give these rooms names associated with the island or the area's history. The pool area could do with some updating. Nicer pool furniture, swing chairs. Turn the shaded seating areas into cabanas maybe. Encourahe people to hang out and spend money! Grounds are beautiful but the fabric of the hotel reminds of hotels I stayed in, in the early 80s in SE Asia....that have all moved on now or don't exist. We'll definitely be back- thanks so much.

We stayed at MIBR from Feb.01 to 05 to celebrate my Feb.04 birthday. We found the staff to be extremely warm & friendly. Breakfast was included in our room rate, which was consistently a tasty and sumptuous experience. Our room was comfortable and well appointed with an ocean view that displayed exquisite sun sets. We will be returning!

Within minutes from the airport, you arrive to be greeted by the therapeutic pond, lush green trees and the most pleasant staff. Check in was a breeze and we were helped to our room by a very pleasant gentleman who made sure to give us some background on the historic grounds the hotel lay on. The room was equipped with all the amenities you can expect to need and the wife sure loved the coffee station in our room. The hotel ground provided a great opportunity for sunset family walks under the decades old trees. My two year old surely got the better of us on these walks lol The large pool with poolside bar provided the true “vacation feel” and the scenic Mt Irvine private beach embraced you with its pristine white sands and crystal clear waters. All in all great experience and I’d definitely recommend it for all!

I moved to the states in 1990 but Tobago is dear to my heart; a quaint and beautiful island . Lots of beautiful child hood memories there. My brother held his rehearsal dinner party by the pool and a beach wedding at your resort in 2022. The wedding was beautiful and the food was great . The service was also great , however , your employees complained that they weren't getting paid on time , I read a recent review and apparently these complaints are still being mentioned to the recent guests. You get 4 stars for your beautiful location , scenery and the fact that you pulled off a beautiful wedding for my brother and his wife . Most of our guests stayed on your resort . Some bad experiences : mosquito invasion in some rooms, broken toilets , shower heads , broken AC's no TV or WiFi in some rooms, key cards not working to enter the rooms . I ran up and down that hill from my cottage to reception area to get my room key reactivated maybe 20 times in a 3 day stay . These are really simple things that you need to fix NOW! Your rooms are still expensive and these are basic necessities, it's not fair that guests are taking time away from work and life , coming from far and having these issues . I would like to book my mom's 70th birthday party at your resort in August 2025. I would like to give this resort another chance because it is a beautiful place . We will be booking at least 10 rooms for about a 3 night stay . Can someone give me a guarantee that everything will be working in the room? The owner needs to reach out to me !
