Excellent accommodation in a lovely old vicarage with extensive gardens and grounds. They also provide lovely food cooked by Kathryn and Stuart is an excellent host and waiter! Note: google and Apple maps are not accurate - take you nearby but to the wrong houses. Look for the lane which is signposted to Westgate Manor.

It’s little wonder that of 301 reviews at the time of writing, 300 have rated this venue as excellent. The location , the rooms , the hosts , the gardens , the wildlife, the food, the ambience, the little extra touches it’s difficult to know where to start. Suffice to say that we can’t wait to go back and the extra benefit was a beautiful part of the country that we barely knew existed. It’s not cheap … but it’s worth every penny !

By way of a review we are going to book again for later in the year. We arrived on the wrong day - our error - and were lucky to be able to still be accomodated. We had a lovely stay. The hotel is set in pretty grounds that are well maintained, the rooms are nicely furnished and decorated, it's absolutely spotless, with a good menu and delicious food. We were made to feel very welcome. DEFINTELY FIVE STARS.

Wow what a terrific experience. From the moment you enter Westgate Manor nothing is lacking. It must be the greatest small hotel I've ever stayed at. The furnishings were superb, bed extremely comfortable and as for the food words fail me to adequately describe, it was superb.

Fantastic manor house, very sumptuous, run by the lovely hosts Kathryn and Stuart. Very quiet situated in the north Penine hills in an area of outstanding nstural beauty. Our meal that evening was cooked by Kathyrn, and the Stick Toffee pudding was to die for! Stuart the host was knowledgeable of the area, and nothing was too much trouble. The room was warm and comfortable, including a tea tray with mini confection on, which we gratefully took with us for the long journey home. Breakfast was freshly cooked and included in the stay. Highly recommended

Stuart and Kathryn are wonderful hosts and we were made to feel like special friends and not guests. The food is delicious and the bed is so comfortable. We will definitely be staying there again. If you want a special place to stay look no further than Westgate Manor.

Kathryn and Stuart are perfect hosts and their house is the perfect property! We were warmly welcomed and felt very relaxed and comfortable in their beautiful Victorian mansion. This is well above the standard of most hotels. Thoroughly recommended.

We both thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Westgate Manor. Our hosts were tremendously welcoming and made us feel very comfortable. The manor itself is Victorian and furnished beautifully throughout. The breakfasts were the best we’ve eaten anywhere and my partner wanted to give a special shout out to the Eggs Benedict. A very relaxing stay!

We have just stated for two days with Kathryn and Stuart at Westgate Manor. They are so welcoming, and make you feel like private guests in a country house. All the rooms are beautiful, and our bedroom was luxurious, with a wonderfully comfortable four poster bed. The food is superb, and the gardens are delightful. We would like to have stayed for longer.
