It was a lovely hotel centrally located. Serviced a purpose. Lovely view of the canal from the window

One night only but staff were helpful and accommodating.

Room - small but clean and comfortable. Powerful and hot shower. Wifi isn't too bad. Reception stated that payment taken on my card had failed and refused to provide me with a receipt. Handed me a computer print out, stating failure. (The money had left my account) we were made to pay the £242 again. I had to open a dispute with the bank. On checkout I spoke with the manager who dismissed me, stating that I was mistaken. I spoke with guest relations on Monday and asked them to escalate the matter. They have since replied by email stating that they don't want to talk to me but, they're arranged a refund. Poorly stocked bar. Mediocre service and an odd 'rotting' smell along one of the corridors.

This Hotel by the canal is a Good example of what I like: value for money, clean rooms and very good service. Very quit Night, Even it was. A Saturday. Comfortable beds, OK size room. Can recommend to anyone but the most lux-seeking tourist. Ok breakfast

We stayed here for one night and had a pleasant stay. We stayed here because of the location. It is close to the Centenary Square, which houses the Symphony Hall and Rep theatre. The hotel is within walking distance of the New Street station. There are places to eat and drink around there. We arrived at the hotel a bit early and left our luggage there as there was a £15 charge to check in early. The reception staff were very helpful and welcoming. The rooms were clean and what you would expect from a premier inn hotel. We had breakfast, and there were plenty of choices. There was a cooked breakfast option, pastries, fruit, yoghurts, cereals, hot drinks, and juices available. The restaurant was nice and looked over the canal. We had no concerns during our stay and would stay there again.

Picked for its location as less than a five minute walk from the ICC. Booked a number of months in advance so also got a really good price. A bit underwhelmed on arrival, and possibly the most spartan premier inn room I've ever seen. But.... End of the corridor so no noise disturbance at all - even though the hotel seemed to have quite high occupancy. Really comfortable bed; good pillows - so 2/2 good nights' sleep. Decided to pay for breakfasts on arrival - which were almost as much as a single night room rate. Hot buffet style breakfast - which to be fair was pretty good. All a bit frantic on the second morning as the kitchen (so to speak - more a reheating centre) struggled to keep up with demand. But no more than a couple of minutes to wait when the bacon ran out. Reasonable selection of pastries; cereals etc. So again did the job. Plus canal side seating both mornings. Coffee - probably the less said the better, but a machine self-serve so expectations were not high. Overall therefore the excellent location; very good price; and good nights' sleep far outweigh any minor quibbles. It does not pretend to provide fivve star luxury but on a value basis deserves 5 stars.
