Papa Rhein - Hotel & Spa

It's a nice hotel, but I wouldn't call it a spa hotel. There's a small indoor pool and 3 saunas but it's all very small and crowded. The views of the Rhine are fabulous, staff is friendly and the breakfast really scrumptious. Room was nice and modern and clean.

This review is for the restaurant Boothaus in the hotel. It is again in "The Guide" and completely undeserved. Slow service, and food that at it's best, is barely acceptable. I had the fish, which was basically a scrap from a salmon, the tail section that was cut off from the main filet, boned, and cooked to the correct temperature in a sous vide. The skin was left on, and the lateral line not removed. It was a tasteless, expensive dish with elaborate presentation. That did not excuse the poor quality. Stay away.

The attention to detail is amazing- the minute you enter the lobby!! Absolutely beautiful hotel, wherever you are. Very comfortable bed and lovely room. Fantastic breakfast overlooking the river and stunning rooftop restaurant with pool to sunbathe, enjoy a cocktail or Italian food. We loved every minute!!

I took my son (8 years old) for a night there so we could spend some quality time together. All in all we loved it! Our room was great - we loved the deco and the balcony with a view of the Rhine. We hit the pool and relaxed in the spa area. A few minor complaints here though! 1. My son couldn’t get a bath robe but other kids at the pool seemed to have them. 2. Kids are only allowed in the pool until 16:30. This is too early as lots of families like a swim after a day out before dinner. This should definitely be moved back until @18:00. The bar area was lovely with a small sandy area with swings which really appealed to my son. The service was friendly and the prices acceptable. We were not happy when we booked the hotel though that we could only get a dinner table at 17:30. We would never eat so early! Maybe ok for people with toddlers! The hotel offers 2 sittings - 1 at 17:30 and 1 at 20:00. We were lucky in that our reservation could be switched to 20:00 on the day of our arrival. This was however a bit too late for an 8 year old and we had to get snacks from the Trust Bar (a nice touch!) to keep us going. We would ideally have wanted to eat @ 19:00. We ate in the Italian restaurant and the food was good. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast next day although a second coffee machine would be good for busy mornings like this one. Overall we had a great experience but there is bit of room for improvement. We do however plan on returning!

Ambiance, rest and rejuvenation are the order of the days and evening. Perfect location to enjoy the sites, dining, scenic views of Rüdesheim am Rhein and Bingen along the Rhein River. Full access to the spa and rooftop pool. Wonderful time!

Great weekend escape at a wonderful place. We booked a somewhat larger room facing the Rhein river and opposite vineyards. Nice collection of art books on the room. Good spa with several saunas and possibly to swim a few lapses in the approximate 20m indoor pool. Very good restaurant with former star chef Nils Henkel. Good selection of local wines. Friendly staff. Nice breakfast. Good starting point for hikes or bike travel. They have a bike rental, although we did not try it.
