Post Ranch Inn

This review is LONG overdue, as I am now here on my 3rd stay over Christmas Eve at the Post Ranch Inn; and, each time I just can't wait to return again. This is an exceptionally special place that I dreamed of visiting for 10 years before finally making it here - and it more than exceeded my expectations. The Ocean House I stayed in my 1st time was so beautiful that I was moved to tears (that happened again today, when I entered the Cliff House!). My 2nd stay was in the Pacific Suite which was also stunning. Here, there is unmatched ambience: the property itself claims some of the most spectacular Big Sur coastline, and they incorporate thoughtful and elegant architecture that cohesively embraces its natural surroundings. The rooms are designed and positioned to perfectly showcase jaw-dropping views. I love coming here for solo getaways to celebrate milestones or take much needed time for myself to recharge. I can gaze endlessly at the horizon and watch "nature's color show" as the sea and sky change throughout the day. It's breathtakingly beautiful. I came for Christmas last year and there is nothing like waking up to a sunrise view of the expansion Pacific Ocean. It was so memorable that I have made it a tradition that I hope to continue for years to come. A big warm thank you to DJ, Chin, Cindy, and the entire team at PR who each play a part in creating a wonderful experience every time I come. PR has come to feel like a home away from home, with heavenly views that celebrate the unique beauty and magic of Big Sur. A special shoutout in particular to DJ who I met on my 1st stay and is the absolute best! He always goes above and beyond to help me pick the perfect room and set me up for a memorable stay, from extra little touches to personalized recommendations on how to spend my time, and checking in on me in a truly authentic and caring manner. His dedication to his guests and his team is amazing, and I can't thank him enough for all he's done!

Post Ranch Inn is an amazing place! Everywhere you go, you are surrounded by beauty, comfort, and peace. It is the perfect place to detach from the rat race! We especially loved hiking through the redwood forest on the property. We also couldn't get enough of the view from the restaurant, Sierra Mar. We appreciated that the staff kept our room stocked with firewood - and we kept the fire going each evening. I love the sustainability efforts at Post Ranch, too. It was a beautiful, relaxing vacation. Just what we needed - in a place of unimaginable beauty!

The Post Ranch Inn hits all the marks: beautiful location, phenomenal staff, impeccable service, delicious food. The rooms compete with each other on how luxurious they are. Each room creates a private escape that allows you to feel detached from the stresses of the world. The staff makes you feel like you are their only priority, a rare talent in today’s hectic world. We left relaxed and looking forward to our next opportunity to return.

We stayed at Post Ranch Inn for my wife's birthday. It offers a truly unparalleled experience, combining breathtaking views of the Big Sur coastline with luxurious, eco-friendly accommodations. With amenities like infinity pools, a lap pool, spa treatments, yoga classes, nature walks, sound baths, and even falconry, Post Ranch Inn offers a deeply relaxing and tranquil atmosphere. The entire staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, especially at reception and Lexus driver service, which made our stay all the more enjoyable. Our dinners/breakfasts at Sierra Mar were a fantastic experience (food, wine, service, views), and we appreciated the unhurried pace, allowing us to savor both the food and the incredible views. With pools open 24 hours, we could enjoy sunrise, sunset, or stargazing whenever we wanted. We’ll definitely be back!

A week ago, I spent two nights and three days with my husband at the Post Ranch. It was an absolutely memorable experience! From the check in time until the departure, all the staff members were highly courteous, professional, and friendly. The scenary everywhere is a top level, world class. Our place was very clean, spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated. I normally do not enjoy hot tub much but I used the tub multiple times during our stay. It was so relaxing, sitting in the tub, sipping drinks, listening to music, and especially enjoying the full ocean view. Having a breakfast at the Sierra Mar restaurant on site each morning is a great start of the day. Meals at the Sierra Mar are always outstanding and the staff members were very professional and friendly. We also enjoyed the delicious dinner with great wine. The wine list at Sierra Mar was truly amazing. We saw several great wine lists from other top restaurants but this list was incomparable! Another memorable experience was a massage that both my husband and I received from Ian. He knows where to focus and with how much pressure. We enjoyed him very much!! I look forward to visiting Post Ranch again!!

We splurged for my husbands 70th! They treated us like king and queen. The first words we heard from DJ was “welcome, you have been upgraded”’!!!I was so happy, the rooms are very pricey and they probably cater to alot of well off people which we r not, we stayed 1 night, but the friendliness and attention to detail seems very genuine! DJ so helpful with recommendations, Bjorn always at hand to assist, give us a tour or ride , Sergio who we remembered when we stayed for 2 nights in 2006, the kindness goes a long way! We still stop about Sergio to this day, taking us around in the golf cart. My only disappointment was that after we stayed in 2006, they said they would honor the same price if we ever came back, well I guess 18 years later they couldn’t keep prices at $850/night, but we did receive a small discount. Every person was wonderful and genuinely happy! We found out later our waiter Trevor is one of the talented artists on the property , we also ran into one of the wood workers who told us he and his son did a lot of work on the property. We were only there 24 hours! But as u can tell we were very impressed with Everything and Everybody!!! Thank u Post Ranch Inn!! Sincerely, Kevin and Linda O’Rourke!!!!❤️
