1000 Nights Camp

We recently stayed in the deluxe Sheikh tent at the Thousand Nights Camp, and it was an unforgettable experience. The tent itself was luxurious, complete with air conditioning to keep us cool during the warm desert nights, and an open-sky shower that added a unique touch of charm and adventure. The complementary escort service to guide our hired 4x4 to the camp was well-organized and added an exciting start to our stay. The drive across the dunes was fun, and the instructions were clear. Just ensure you have 1 rial handy to pay the garage for adjusting your tire pressure before heading into the sand. The camp offers a variety of activities, including camel rides, which add to the authentic desert experience. We opted for the sunrise dune bashing and Bedouin tour. While the views were breathtaking and the overall experience was memorable, we found it a bit expensive for what it was, especially as the guide didn’t provide much information about the desert’s flora and fauna. The pool was a fantastic way to relax and cool off during the day, with stunning views of the surrounding dunes. In the evening, the camp’s stargazing activity with an astronomer and telescope was a highlight, offering a fascinating glimpse into the night sky. The breakfast buffet was excellent, though the shashuka did run out quickly, so be sure to arrive early. The dinner buffet was equally enjoyable, with a wide variety of Omani and international dishes to suit all tastes. For families and those looking to pass the time, there’s a children’s play area and a pool table available. The setting of the camp, deep in the Wahiba Sands, is truly magical, offering both tranquility and adventure. While there are a few minor areas for improvement, the Thousand Nights Camp is a wonderful retreat for couples, families, or anyone looking to experience the beauty of Oman’s desert. Highly recommended—we’ll definitely be back!

The welcome was so warm and friendly. It's like a hotel deep inside the dessert. Especially Deepak was such a nice guy. He picked us up as we were lost in the camp and didn't find our room after watching the sunset. He is a really friendly and caring guy!

I had an amazing time at the 1000 nights camp. The provided room was as expected and we had well organised and great activities provided by the camp such as sand bashing, morning trek in the sun rise and camel ride in the sunset. The services provided by the staff was 5 stars, especially from Deepak who made sure for us to have everything we need during our 2 nights stay

we don't understand all the positive reviews... this place needs serious renovation. pictures look much nicer that it really is. The drive there is super easy doable yourself, but they send you a super complicated map, which scares you driving in the desert, so you let yourself rip off with an escort or driver. you can just follow the black poles all the way there. In the morning, the shower had only cold water. It’s also a place where group tours come, so dinner feels like a school camp. I's a dry camp, no alcohol is served, and they don’t tell you this anywhere before booking. For EUR 350 per night, we expected a lot more. I would recommend looking for a better option if you want a special desert experience.

Of course the location speaks itself, but the 1000 nights camp makes the adventure even more beautiful. Very respectful of the desert, and traditions. The rooms/tents are spacious and clean. The bathroom has no roof and taking the shower under the stars at night is a priceless experience. The restaurant has an international menu and medio oriental menu. Good quality Kids friendly because of the pool and a playground area. The staff is very very qualified and kind! Especially hershwa!
