Ama Hôtel

This was a perfect place for us, for our first trip to Biarritz. I'm quite an exacting guest, but this business knows precisely what it's doing. It came as no surprise that the manager had travelled extensively herself - that's always a very good sign. We had to check in late in the evening: not a problem; the key code got us in, to find a welcoming envelope with our room key, basic details, etc. The room was sweet: a decent wardrobe [good hangers!], kettle and tea/coffee, a little fridge, comfortable bed. The shutters on the windows were a great addition, blocking out the light for a deep sleep. Very good bathroom - well, OK, there was one glitch with the plumbing, but that was more to do with a mad design of taps than anything fundamental. It was a problem sorted quickly and personally. Good breakfast - and excellent value. Being able to open windows - in the bathroom as well as bedroom - was lovely. We had bright light flooding in - reminding us we were not in rainy London! The location is perfect; superb restaurants nearby. It had the feel of a real neighbourhood. The staff were all charming and helpful. We hope the Biarritz tourist board is proud of this little jewel.

Pretty boutique hotel in Biarritz centre. Close to beach, casino, shops and restaurants. Nice sized room and very quiet. Lovely decor. Good breakfast. Sylvie made us feel very much at home and was very helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay here again.

We have stayed for 3 nights in Ama .It was beautiful. Sylvie, the responsabile was very professional who really helped us with all infos necessary and very friendly. It was like in your home with hotel comfort. It's in center and you can reach any parte of the city by walking. Very close to the main beaches , they even suply all your needs as umbrella, ...for the beach. We had a Wonderful time in our stay thanks to AMA hotel. Thank you Sylvy

We prepaid for half our reservation months in advance, which was for a guaranteed double bed room, over Bastille day this summer. First, we had to wait hours beyond the hotel’s check-in time to check in. Then, when we finally got our room, it was a single bed for two people. The manager then refused to change our room, even though we had RESERVED AND PRE-PAID, and said there was nothing to be done. We ultimately switched hotels, then when we tried to get a refund on our prepayment because they did not provide what we had reserved and PAID FOR, they refused to give us our money back and lied about what happened. They were completely dishonest and unreasonable. DO NOT STAY HERE.

AMA is a fantastic spot to stay at if you are wanting to access all that Biarritz has to offer - the hotel is only a short walk from the main promenade/Le Grand Plage and other sights on the interior of the town, such as Les Halles and the Jardin Public. Room prices are very good value when compared to other accommodation in this location and the service we experienced was first-class, with our host providing excellent advice on where to visit and eat/drink in the short time we were there (and even taking the time to talk 90s Britpop with us!) All in all, highly recommended!
