We had a wonderful 2 night trip to this guesthouse. Kamal and Jalila were incredibly hospitable and Jalila is a wonderful cook. She prepared the best Aubergine dish I have ever tasted! Breakfasts were plentiful and served on the terrace on the rooftop, o relooking the town of Bhalil and the surrounding mountains. We took 3 day tours with Kamal and he picked us up and dropped us off at our riad in Fes, before and after the trip. A hire car would also work well. There is parking close by. All in all a great experience.

I really love this hidden gem and wish I could stay here longer. I have had the pleasure to visit with my tour guests on two occasions and it is just charming and cozy and rustic and lovely. The hosts are dynamite and the stay is that of a well-appointed bed and breakfast. Expect plenty of character in all ways!

The facilities, traditional setting and delicious meal cooked for us, the welcome, the helpfulness, and the wonderful breakfast included in the price, was everything we could have wanted, and great value for money. Kamal and his lovely wife, Jalila, did everything possible to make our stay a happy one, and took the time to talk to us about many interesting topics. Kamal cares deeply about the environment and his country. Our stay was unforgettable, and I thoroughly recommend this accommodation to anyone wishing to tour Morocco. Unfortunately we were unable to stay as planned with Kemal and Jamila as planned due to a flood from a neighbouring property. They went out of their way to ensure we had somewhere suitable to stay, but we missed the experience of staying in a Berber Village, and consequently shortened our planned stay in the area. Nevertheless Kamal went out of his way to ensure our stay was as positive as possible in the circumstances, with him collecting us, so that we could eat with the family as planned each evening. Jalila is delightful, and also a super cook! Her dishes were much appreciated. We were given a tour of their authentically furnished accommodation, which sadly cannot be used by anyone until the necessary formal inspection visits and written permissions had been issued by the relevant authorities.

We had an absolutely fantastic 5 days at Dar Kamal. The place is just gorgeous with old traditional features and lots of colours. It was a great antidote to the busy-ness of Fez. Kamal is a passionate, incredibly knowledgeable guide and we loved all the tours we did with him: the animal market in Azrou, The Jewish Tour of Sefrou, History Tour of Bhalil… we had the best time!

Jaleela's cooking during our three night stay provided world-class breakfasts, soups, tagines and deserts. Amazing. Other reviews have highlighted Kamal's engaging, informative and interesting tours and conversations making a very memorable stay in a family setting in a traditional village. Mint tea on the patio was a final positive note.
