We have stayed here numerous times when we come to town to visit my Dad. Each visit we notice a bit more of a decline in the property unfortunately. It’s not bad, but it definitely needs some TLC. The courtyard hadn’t been mowed in weeks! It was full of weeds and looked completely unkept. We had a 1st floor balcony room, but given the no landscaping, patio furniture that was in disrepair or very old on most patios and patio doors/windows that hadn’t been cleaned in what appeared to be forever we kept the curtains closed let alone never sat outside. It was a struggle to try and even slide the door open to the patio. The carpet had a large coffee cup size patch job in the living room. Nothing major but it stuck out and was very obvious. The wall by our interior door looked as if someone had spilled coffee and it splattered. Otherwise the room itself was clean and bed was very comfortable. We arrived from New Mexico at 2 pm. Check in was 3 pm. Asked for an early check in and was told 1 extra hr would be $35. Thought that was a bit much literally and figuratively. Especially considering it was a Sun afternoon so peak wknd crowd was gone and I literally saw 3 other cars in the pkg lot. She did let me check in at 2:45 for no addtl $. Did I mention we were staying with our rewards/loyalty points and they still would not allow a 1 hr early check in when the hotel was empty? Not very rewarding for rewards members. When I went to retrieve a luggage cart from the front desk at 5:15 am there was no one at the front desk, but an adult sound asleep on the couch in the lobby in front of the desk. I believe it was the front desk clerk based on the person that checked me out approx 30 min later. ?? Breakfast didn’t officially start until 6 am. However they had everything out at 5:45. This was helpful since we had an early start. Very limited but typical hotel bkst. Yogurt, 2 cereals, bagels, toast, eggs, sausage and bacon. Sign at check in says one bkst coupon per room for one person only which seemed odd, but we were given 2 vouchers at check in. Didn’t question it and said thank you. The gym was clean and all equipment appeared to be working. Very typical hotel gym set up. Asked for a receipt at check out. Was told they couldn’t generate one bc I paid with loyalty points. They said something would be emailed to me. I haven’t received anything…..yet. I always request a receipt showing zero balance when paying with loyalty points bc you have to give them a credit card for incidentals, etc. This property in the past has made a mistake of then charging the room to my card AND deducting our reward points. I always double check this. Sounds like a lot of negative items but we would stay there again. The location works for us, quick access to the freeway and trail system by the river, couple of restaurants near by, etc I’d give them a 3 star rating but they could easily be better with some TLC and just a
