So we stayed for only 2 nights as we made our way from Lucerne back into France. We’ve stayed at a few TCS Camping sites this trip and they’ve all been excellent, but this one was by far our favourite. The staff on check in were excellent spoke brilliant English which was useful as although my wife started a degree in German it’s clear why she never finished it 😂😂. They were brilliant and showed us the available spots and allowed us to chose, we did park the wrong way, ie not perpendicular to the roadway, but they were ok and didn’t make us move. You will need a Swiss power adapter, but don’t worry the reception will lend you one for a €20 deposit The small shop and restaurant are good, the food looked lovely but remember this is Switzerland and a portion of chips will set you back about 7Fr! But saying that if you’re coming to Switzerland you know it’s not a cheap place to eat or drink. There is a small bar at the restaurant and a lovely sitting area outside under some shade. The facilities are excellent, the motorhome grey water point is easily accessed and all water is drinkable. The toilets must have been renovated recently as they are outstanding, very clean and well maintained, the shower has the power of an industrial power washer too. My wife takes the P**s as I always look for the washing machines on a long trip and these were great and only 3Fr 😂😂 For the kids there is a small Astro pitch with some goals, a bench volleyball court and a small playground with some trampets and slacklines. Literally outside the side entrance there is the river, which in the heat is a godsend. The river has a fairly strong current so you need to be aware of this, especially anyone with young kids, but for adults / older kids who are water confident it shouldn’t be an issue. You can cross the bridge turn upstream walk for about 10 mins enter the water and enjoy the float back down to the site. You can also jump off the bridge into the river at the same location, it’s great fun and loads of people were doing it, incidentally if anyone finds a Go Pro under the bridge please return it to me, as mine snapped off the handle when my son jumped in with it 😭😭. Speaking of swimming, if you venture into Bern you’ll see loads of people in the river, you can enter upstream from the bear pit and float for about 40 mins down to Lorrainebad. I would take a swim float or waterproof bag to carry your stuff in, but it’s well worth it, it’s a great way to see the city from another angle and you get to cool down too. To get to Bern you get a free travel pass from the site, the 101 bus goes from outside the site every 15 mins to the main bus station which is only 5 min walk from the main sites. Getting home is just as simple, the 101 stopping outside the site. The bus ride takes about 20 mins but it flies by.. Overall a great site, lovely staff and Bern is a lovely place to visit
