Montusi is a very special place. Superb location, astounding views, very comfortable facilities, great food and, most of all, friendly and efficient people. We were looked after royally from arrival to departure. The main lodge and our studio were beautifully designed and equipped; we hope to return!

We had an amazing time at Montusi. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and clean. There is a bar fridge, free tea, coffee and homemade rusks. They also provide an umbrella, pool towels and a bag, There are also water bottles provided to use on the beautiful hikes. It is set in beautiful surroundings and is very peaceful. You can horse ride at the lodge. Just down the road is All out Adventures which over out door activities for all ages. We had a great time doing a tree canopy zip line and quad biking. The food was excellent. There are various options for dinner with starters, main and dessert. Breakfast also offers a wide variety. They do offer lunch as well. The homemade breads and rolls were delicious and a lovely touch. It is very safe and peaceful. It is a family run business and you can see this in all the small details. We will definitely be going back. I highly recommend the lodge for all ages.

Wonderful place in a great location. Montusi has been designed with such care and attention, with every amenity. The cottages are comfortable, nice to have your own lounge and terrace as well as a bedroom. The food is excellent. A great place to unwind.

The location of Montusi is excellent to visit Royal Natal Nationalpark, Lindsay and her team were outstanding to help us in all aspects. Rooms, food, service - fabulous. Great service from start to end. For us, no better place to be in this area.

An absolute gem! I fell in love with this piece of heaven and didn’t want to leave. We experienced hospitality at its finest—warm & personalized, with attention paid to every small detail. From being greeted by name, receiving refreshing mocktails, and a quick tour of the lodge on arrival, to kind gestures in our chalet; a welcome note & gift of scrumptious cookies, to thoughtful touches of home-baked rusks, umbrellas, swimming towels, and water bottles. The lodge blends luxury with a welcoming, unpretentious charm. It is smaller than other berg hotels, - creating an intimate and peaceful setting with breathtaking views. While we didn’t go horse-riding, we witnessed a 10 day old foal with its mom, (my heart!) swam in the stunning pool and went on a few well-marked hiking trails, accompanied by friendly knowledgeable guides. Dinners were delicious, and beautifully presented. All their staff were exceptional in their service and interactions with us.

Amazing 4 night stay, the lodge, staff, food and location were perfect. We were made so welcome and really felt at home. It was nice that the owners family were there and we got to know them all and learnt about the area and local history. So sad to leave and we can highly recommend a visit, you won’t be disappointed

Visited for the second time and on each occasion we arrived after arrival on an overnight flight to South Africa. The location and the place provide a perfect glide path into a holiday in South Africa. Somehow they have perfected a calming atmosphere with a personal touch. You can pick up more practical and specific feedback from other reviews but as far as this one goes it’s just lovely there!

We stayed in early December for my wife's birthday and was not disappointed. I am only giving this five stars because I can't give ten. The owners , staff, food and above all the setting superb. Thanks Lindsey and Michael. Lots of walks, maybe hotter than we thought, but that is weather for you.

This family owned & run property is a delight. The setting is lovely, at the foot of the Drakensburg range & the accommodation is nicely spread throughout the grounds giving everyone their own space, with magnificent views. Our accommodation was spotless & included a modern bathroom & small kitchenette. It was perfect for our 3 night stay & we wished we had stayed longer. The breakfast & dinner offerings are extremely good with good presentation & portion size & well flavoured. We did the 3 hour horse ride through the mountains, which whilst quite strenuous was a wonderful experience with good wildlife sightings. What was particularly nice was the daily interaction with the owners, they clearly take great pride in the Lodge & area & this is reflected in the attention to detail. It is a credit to them. We will definitely stay here again when returning to the area.
