If you want a place to go where you will be treated like family, where everyone knows you by name, where you can experience authentic Fijian culture, Beqa Lagoon Resort is the place for you. I cannot name everyone who took care of us, but Filo, Tebuna, Soko, Tusi, Ruca, Selema, Delana, Zack, and Jay made us feel so welcome. I brought my daughter and my husband here for a week, and we were truly sad to leave. They treated my daughter like she was one of their own. The food was incredible every day. The snorkeling in front of the resort was great for my daughter. The diving was some of the best I have experienced. The coral reefs are bright, healthy, and PACKED with a variety of fish. We saw white tipped sharks, nurse sharks, lemon sharks, spotted eagle rays, turtles, octopus, just to name a few. The Cathedral Shark Dive is not to be missed and mind blowing!! The tiger sharks are massive! The dive guides do a great job with safety and making sure the sharks are respected. Their focus is on the shark conservation in which they have a great briefing about it between dives. If given the opportunity with our busy lifestyle, I would definitely love to come back.

Just returned from an unforgettable week of scuba diving at Beqa Lagoon. The trip was relaxing, delicious, fun, enriching—and easily one of my top three vacations of all time. Even the dogs that call Beqa home are some of the most relaxed I’ve ever encountered. It’s rare to experience such genuine, elevated care from every member of a staff—and even rarer to leave a vacation feeling truly melancholy. The dive crew was fantastic throughout the week, and most of the staff greeted me by name each time we crossed paths. We were welcomed with complimentary foot massages from the kind and capable spa team. During the week, I indulged in both hot stone and deep tissue massages. I’ve had many massages over the years, but the deep tissue massage I received from Litia set a whole new standard—hands down, the best I’ve ever had. Meals were served three times daily, with the option of ordering smaller plates from the bar in between. The food was consistently good, and the ultra-fresh ceviche—enjoyed after a “cooking” demonstration led by a few staff members—was a standout. The kava ceremony was a unique and memorable experience as well. I’m already looking forward to the next time I can return and reconnect with my new friends at Beqa Lagoon!

Loved Beqa Resort. The diving and snorkeling is the best. The staff is the most accommodating and the lodging is out of an island travel magazine. We have never been to a resort with more pleasant people, from the front desk to the garden staff. The food was very good. The bar was well stocked.

This trip was one of the best decisions I've ever made... possibly life-changing. January is summer is in the southern hemisphere so it was a welcome relief to leave the US winter to warm, tropical surroundings. Despite the jet lag, I spent the majority of that week diving (2 cylinder boat dives plus 1 - 2 shore dives for 5 days or more if I wanted). The dive shop is very professionally managed which is evident from the leadership all the way down to the employees maintaining equipment. Rentals are available however at minimum you'll need a SCUBA regulator and buoyancy compensator device (BCD). The dive shop prioritizes safety and despite the "cathedral" *tiger shark dive(s)... I didn't get a sense of danger since many safeguards were put in place. I had a great time discovering what's been described as an extension of the Great Barrier Reef in this corner of the South Pacific. *NOTE: You can choose to go on more than one shark dive but that will cost extra. It also depends on ad hoc scheduling based on conditions. There's too much to mention but in a nutshell... I ate restaurant quality meals (comparable to good local steakhouses), went swimming in the pool, and enjoyed group activities such as a village tour, seeing fire walkers, fire dancers, live music, and a local choir also sang for our group. There was plenty to do but I also enjoyed doing nothing. The tropical surroundings allow you to lose all track of time. The resort itself is well maintained, the rooms are clean, and entire resort possesses an almost perfect, zen-like environment. In my opinion, the Beqa Lagoon Beach Resort is a gorgeous retreat that's a far better version of home away from home. The Fijians were very gracious, hard working, and accommodating hosts. You get a sense of appreciation knowing that Fijians might be impoverished by US standards but they're extremely grateful for what they have and they're optimistic because they're mainly focused on the present moment. Thank you for reading this. This is my unbiased and unpaid review.

Beqa Lagoon Resorts exceeded my expectations. The moment you step off the boat, the entire staff’s mission is to make you feel at home, part of the family – and they succeed. If you are not a diver, no worries; there are plenty of activities to keep you busy. Or just sit by the pool. The food is excellent with three choices for lunch and dinner, including vegetarian. This resort is unpretentious with a relaxed and soothing atmosphere. The staff go above and beyond to ensure you are having the best holiday possible. I highly recommend Beqa Lagoon Resorts.

This was our 4th trip to Beqa, and it was every bit as great as in the past. The resort was wonderful with very friendly staff (Miri and Filo are great hosts/managers). The service staff and Bar staff were great. The new General Managers from South Africa were doing a great job, and had only been there for a month. The food was the best we have had at the resort. The diving was, of course, fantastic. Seems like there is more fish life than in the past years. Plenty of Clown Fish, several Moray Eels, an occasional Turtle, Octopus in the coral, Nudibranchs, Electric Clams, and plenty of Sharks on the Shark Dive. We dove with Nix as our Divemaster this trip, and he was very thorough in his briefings and explorations in the water. He found us plenty of fish life and amazing soft corals. He was always in control of our group and knew where we were at all times. Nix was great! I think we have dived with most of the Divemasters in the past, including Misi, Junior, and Kelly, and it was nice to see them all again. Papa did a great job for us on the Shark Dive. There were several very close encounters with the Tigers and Bulls, as they often came behind us and gave us some great photo opportunities. Overall the trip was great and we look forward to perhaps visiting Beqa again, for the 5th time. Thank you Beqa and Fiji!

The rooms are beautiful! The food was amazing...and best of all, the diving was stellar. Our group was on the Mako boat and had the best dive masters and captain (Nix, Junior, and Livai). Nix helped me overcome my fear of diving.

The resort is VERY nice. The ocean view huts (Bures) are wonderful. All the staff bends over backward to be friendly and helpful. The food was very good and portions were generous. However the reef is in really rough shape and the diving was a HUGE disappointment. We mostly saw coral rubble. At about 30 feet of depth and above we did see some nice corals and some beautiful fish, but lower down it is a moon-scape. They talk about unlimited shore diving, but there isn't much to see on the "house reef," so one or two times out there will be enough The shark dive was interesting and we did get to see tiger sharks, nurse sharks, and a few others. The resort makes an effort to offer local cultural experiences and excursions in the afternoon. Drinks are expensive as are their add-on services such as internet and "paid" excursions. I'd like to recommend the resort because the place (above the water) is really nice, however, under the water the reef and the diving is just not worth the time and money.
