This is a one star due to value for money. This is not a cheap resort. We arrived at 2 pm and were told check in was at 3 pm. We went to eat at the buffet, which for a lunch buffet was decent. We went back at 3 pm to check on our rooms. We’re were told 20 more minutes. At 3:20 pm we were told 20 more minutes. At 3:40 pm we were told 20 more minutes. At 4 pm we received our room, 1 hour late. We immediately noticed the odor of mold upon entry to our room. The black mold lined one side of the shower. My son is asthmatic. We spoke to the manager to request a credit for something, perhaps the spa. For the delay we were given a bottle of cheap wine hardly fit for cooking and a charcuterie board. We asked to speak to the general manager and were told he is not on premises. How is a general manager not on premises!? This resort has 5 a la carte restaurants. Each was a 1.5+ hour wait at 7 pm. We instead went to the buffet for dinner. This consisted of warmed up lunch food with absolutely nothing for children to eat. This bills itself as a family hotel. At one point I overheard a waiter telling a woman they were out of chicken nuggets and they would bring hash browns instead. This is at dinner! Nuggets are not a labor intensive food. They are sold frozen. The next day at breakfast they ran out of scrambled eggs by 9 am. At the front desk I overheard a woman locked herself out of her room. She was informed that the hotel was put of key cards. We spoke to other guests who complained of food poisoning. The fences around the pool are worn and patched with yellow “danger” tape. If this resort was ever anything approaching 5 stars, then that time has clearly passed! It seems as though management has stopped caring about this resort and is intent on milking as much money as possible before either selling it or condemning it. We left to a different hotel after one night.
