Returned Jan 14th from a family vacation. This is a young children/family resort. If you're a couple without young kids, I do not recommend this resort unless that is what you are looking for. If your youngest child is 8 or 9, and you have older kids, I don't recommend this resort. With that said, for adults traveling with young kids, this resort isn't too bad. Large buffet for easy feeding, mellow pools for kids, what looked like kid friendly activities, clean rooms, and beach is mellow. Resort is dead by 10pm, so you won't feel bad going to bed early and getting up early. What evening events we saw, seemed decent. Gym was smaller but had adequate options for a work out. What we didn't like is the resort is understaffed. They are aware of this, but I'm assuming are trying to get to a less crowded time of the year when it makes sense to have less people working. This mainly affected the ala carte dining. Plan on 2-2.5 hours to dine and there are no reservation systems in place for 3 of the 4 restaurants. The adult-only Galerie requires a same day reservation with concierge at 9am. The other three restaurants can be a long wait if you don't plan accordingly. We solved by arriving at 5pm to get a seat when restaurants opened at 5:30pm. That's a very early dining time, but by the time the food starts arriving it will be closer to 6:30pm. There is a charge for room service of $10 per delivery. We didn't use this service, but others we chatted with said that it takes 1-1.5 hours for delivery and the food is cold. I believe this is also due to being understaffed. Tennis courts closed, basketball closed. Galerie food was fun and different. We didn't like all of it, but some items were good. Rodeo steak house had the best food of ala carte. Also has a mechanical bull if you want to try it out. They do allow kids on at certain times. Mexican restaurant was mediocre. Thought the steak taco appetizer was the best item. Italian restaurant has medium fare. Pizza was a mound of cheese on a tasteless flat crust. Other items were okay. Buffet was only choice for breakfast and had a wide range of food options including vegetarian and childrens food. Some lunches were good others so-so. Dinner was either so-so or decent. Each day varies. Lunch bar by pool was mainly fish tacos or burger/hot dogs. My kids liked the fish tacos, chips/guacamole. Drinks were plenty at all the bars, no top shelf liquor, but the bar tenders weren't stingy and you can get mixed drinks brought to you in buffet. There is a lounge for club members. It was empty with no one serving on the few times we stuck are head in. The alcohol choices were a bit better in there, but with no one to serve, not sure if you want to go help yourself. Bars- Always best to specify what alcohol you want as a base. Lobby bar seemed decent. They serve caffeinated coffees as well. Knight Bar - pool tables, Valentin was a great bar tender, dark wood decor, poker tabl
