Medplaya Hotel Riviera - Adults Recommended

We have visited this hotel at least twice a year for the past eight years. The location is perfect with great sea views and beautiful pool area. The staff are exceptionally polite, friendly and helpful, and nothing is a problem to them. The reception staff, Jose, Julia and Sylvia are excellent. The meals are mostly excellent, although slightly less choice we felt this time. The waitresses are excellent, Andrea, Christina, Aurora, Natalia, Brenda and Anna, they all work so hard and are so friendly and helpful. Roberto is a gentleman and very professional, he keeps things ticking over at all times. The chef Peña, is as ever unhelpful and rude and one lady said she was terrified of him, his attitude is not good and he likes to keep you waiting for no other reason than the fact that he knows it’s annoying you! The rooms are tired and in need of refurbishment, especially the balcony furniture, which is dire. The cleanliness standard in the hotel is normally excellent, however, our room, on arrival was not properly cleaned, the toilet and floors were roughly cleaned but I had to do it myself. All things considered it’s still a favourite of ours. The staff are just excellent and we can’t thank them enough.

Location amazing opposite the harbour, food (breakfast and evening meal - both buffet) was outstanding, such a huge choice and to a very high standard better than on a cruise ship!! Highly recommend!!! Many outside destinations to relax, I. Different layers with pool, jacuzzi and a chill out zone on top floor to sunbathe with luxury beds.

Stayed one week for new year and had a lovely time. The staff are friendly and helpful they worked incredibly hard. Pepe ?? The chap that cooks the eggs / omelettes is just so sweet. Rooms were cleaned daily and yes they probably do need tarting up a bit but they are perfectly okay. Food has massively improved since our last stay we were never struggling for anything to eat. Choice for breakfast and dinner is excellent. The singer on New Year’s Eve was good but the other entertainment wasn’t all that good but most guests seemed to stay and watch it. Great being adults only please don’t change it. It’s so nice not to have kids running about everywhere Our rep Gary and the girls that work with him were all very nice and informative. Would definitely recommend the hotel and it’s in a fabulous location. Thankyou all
