Beechworth Lake Sambell Caravan Park

Missed our annual Christmas trip in 2023 so was great to be back in Beechworth’s best caravan park again! Our 20th visit over the past 9 years! Warm welcome from Roger & Sue, Kim & Jackie as always. Kids getting older and harder to entertain but a few cricket matches with other guests soon sorted the boys out! Overall a great trip as always and highly recommend Lee & Zoe

This caravan park has been around for a very long time, hence the sites can be quite small. However, the non powered sites do have big sites to park. Only selected big powered sites for those with big cars and vans. The amenities can be a bit old but it is very clean. Staff keeps the place nice and tiny, amenities very clean. Staff are all very friendly and a big bonus, a staff will guide you into your allocated site. Lots of cabins dotted around in the park. Just a short walking distance to Beechworth township… we took the picturesque walking track along Lake Sambell to the small Chinese garden to town and that was about 1.7km. I think slightly shorter if you use the streets to town. Owners Roger and Sue, whom we have yet to meet. A big thank you to Derek (who helped us park our big rig on our first shake down trip) and his wife, Yvonne, Brett (helped us to the site on this trip), Jackie and Kim and Phil. All the crew were friendly and helpful. We hope to be back one day when we are in the region. Fingers crossed, we get the same site

We had a lovely stay at the Lake Sambell Caravan Park. We camped at an unpowered site with a view over the duck pond and lake, and a short walk to the local "beach". We took our dog, and it was lovely to see so many other people also there with their pets. The other campers were friendly and chatty without being nosey - I had forgotten how different this is to staying in a B&B where you rarely see other people! The campsite is excellent. Our area had plenty of shade from the hot January sun, and as the park was not full we had plenty of space between us and other guests. The bathroom and kitchen facilities were in immaculate condition and there were lots of staff around keeping the grounds and facilities in excellent order. It's about 1km or so to walk into town along beautiful well shaded shared paths, and there are plenty of eating and drinking and coffee options available. I highly recommend Lake Sambell.
