We had a private family and friends function on a Saturday night and I have to say it was excellent. The staff were all super friendly and nothing seemed too much trouble for them - very accommodating. The layout of the place is perfect and the garden was a great place to hang out. The rooms were great and the little touches (like bath robes, magnifying mirrors etc) were lovely. The breakfast the next morning was fantastic as was the food the night before. The big thing about this place was the staff - they seemed to enjoy the party as much as we all did and they, as well as the band (The Smoking Jackets) really made it a great event. Thank you all.

Absolutely vile the way I’ve been treated! Came here after coming out of hospital and abused by staff because I was sat at a table 1 hour before the football started. Seriously sick of people treating me like a leper.and this was apparently the manager!!!

We stayed at the Abbey Hotel this weekend for our friends birthday celebrations. What can we say??? Amazing staff, fantastic food and very comfortable accommodation. Loved it, everything about this hotel is just perfect. Could not recommend this hotel more. Never been to a hotel with such friendly and helpful staff! Thank you all for a terrific weekend

I turned up early to ask if I could leave my bag but no one was about and I had to call three phone numbers to talk to someone who was not around but told me to leave my bag and they would look after it. I went back after check in time to get my key and did not get the room I had booked but the room was adequate for one night. I was informed Breakfast was served from 7.30 to 9.30 and I said I would be down around 8am . I found my case where I had left it and it was not locked away safely but left in the hall. My dress that was hung up on a door was now trapped between the door and the frame as the door had been closed but my dress had not been moved. The room was small but mostly clean. There were stains on the carpet and chair. I know it is an old building but the windows were dirty and one had a pane of glass cracked. The bathroom floor creaked badly as did the stairs going up to the room. Coming in late meant it was difficult to be quiet I went down for breakfast at 7.50 after I had been out to pay parking as I was expecting to be there for at least another 45mins to 1 hour to have breakfast. I waited 15mins in the bar for someone to come and see what i wanted for breakfast but nobody came. In the end I left a message on the bar to say I was leaving and would lock up and put the key through the letter box. For the cost of the stay this was not value for money and the service was not up to standard. I would appreciate some explanation for the lack of customer care and recompense for not getting what I paid for

We just held our wedding reception at the Abbey Hotel and we couldn't recommend them enough. They were the first venue we visited and Kate was so welcoming and fun that we booked with them straight away! With the help of Kate and the team we had the most wonderful time. The party food and breakfast was so delicious and we can't wait to go back for an ELF night or Sunday lunch! Thanks so much xxx
