Healey Hotel

There is a 50/50 chance (last year I booked here to) that you will be moved to their sister location 1 HOUR walk away! When this is brought up they just shrugged their shoulders and said get a taxi or a bus. Last year this hotel was alright but I have to say about my time this year because they may turn around 3 hours before check in and say you’re being moved and you have no say. The other room was fine until I looked in the bathroom. The vinyl was ripped and the flooring raised. The toilet seat was off and to the side (plus no toilet brush). When I told reception the guy said “it’s fine we’ve known about it for weeks. Don’t worry a plumber is coming tomorrow morning to fix the tap”. There was no issue with the tap so I have no idea what he was talking about. When I asked about a time it was like he pulled it out his bum! “11am” so I said “guess I have to be out my room by 10-11” and he kinda just agreed with me. Now the weekend is over and I am home I can say there was no plumber in my room as NOTHING changed. Someone did come in to empty the bin and put new milk, coffee and sugar out. My friend also had his bed made for him. So take that as either creepy or nice. Last year other than the hotel needing a proper clean (it was hoovered, dusted and clean bedding just not in all the cracks). But the bathroom was alright as far as I’m aware. TL;DR 50/50 you’ll stay here or at their sister location. This hotel is decent. The sister one is a dice roll on whether the room will be damaged or not.

I booked this place because it is the closest to the hospital. But unfortunately, you were not appropriately informed that you could not accommodate my booking today when I was going to check in!!! I faced a terrible situation without informing us in advance, at least by 12 pm !! There are plenty of other closer places

From the moment I stepped into the reception there was something wrong with this hotel - the website looks amazing and promises so much - in reality it delivers nothing. My first room was so small I upgraded - a closer inspection found mould around the bath and on the bathroom tiles - someone had been sick in the sink and the food was coming back up the plug every time water was run and the final straw - hairs in the bed. I had to unfortunately stay the one night - no food on a Sunday evening so I had to get a takeaway- I was so glad to check out - ended up at the local Premier Inn - so much better - I do have photos so please when replying to this (Owner) we don’t want to hear about how sorry you are - do something about it !

Booked a room 3 weeks in advance for my grandchildren christening, only to be told the night before we travel that the hotel have cancelled our room. I telephoned to ask why and they told me that no rooms were available. No alternative accommodation or compensation was offered... very poor and distressing, and less than 20 hours to find somewhere else! Stay clear of this hotel as they are unreliable.

The “hotel” was in a terrible state of repair. The photos on the website bear no resemblance to reality. The photos of the rooms are clearly taken from other websites. There was a “receptionist” on site who was shambolic and wearing clothes that were scruffy and way too big for him. There seemed to be vulnerable people hanging around the reception area. My friend and I felt very unsafe and would say to anyone do NOT consider staying at this place.

Awful hotel dirty rooms with glasses and food left on top of wardrobe No plug in sink sockets not working mould in bathroom tiles This hotel is a a disgrace I would not let my dog stay here it is dirty and uncomfortable do yourself a favour and sleep on the station platform for the night
