Le Relais de Marambaia

POSITIVES Absolutely beautiful view from the room. Very spacious and clean. Breakfast was delicious. Staff in the kitchen/servers were so kind to our son. Wifi did not work in our room but staff went above and beyond to have it repaired for us. NEGATIVES A bit awkward at check in. It appeared staff did not know we had a reservation and I had to prove/show our reservation email several times on my phone which was not the smoothest check in after a long day of travel.

We rented all 7 rooms for a week this July to have our family (10 adults and 6 children) together when our youngest son married his Brazilian wife at a magical place, the Meio do Mato, close by. It could not have worked out more perfectly. First of all, the staff under the leadership of Vincent and Nikki was very personable and doing everything to accommodate our wishes. Furthermore, all 7 rooms were perfect and looked out on the swimming pool below and the ocean beyond. The hotel is not directly on the beach, but either a short swim (across a narrow estuary) or a brief walk away. There are many more beaches to explore and Ubers are quickly available and cheap. The restaurant is very good. Individual plates are very generous, and we quickly learned to arrange for family-style dinners with Vincent and the kitchen staff. Moreover, Barra de Guaratiba has many more restaurants within walking distance. What more to say? A perfect score!

Cabin III: Dirty hydro massage bathtub: Dirt ring around the perimeter of tub, jets hardware and drain dirty with rust and mold looking residues Bathroom glass door dirty Toilet has dirt ring around the perimeter. Bathroom floor dirty and stained Shower door dirty. Wood flooring at entrance to shower broken creating a potential foot injury.

I purchased travel insurance because there was a huge chance for issues. Sure enough the airline canceled the flight within 24 hours of booking and the property kept saying cancel is possible but we had to do other steps. We followed the steps and more steps elsewhere were given to the point we were sent to a dead end.

Great hotel, staff and restaurant. Breakfast is wonderful and view is really nice, including turtle watching. You can hike to the Telégrafo and that is really cool. There is a small beach nearby. If you mostly want to stay “in” this is a great place!

Reservei uma noite no Le relais de Marambaia em julho para um casal. Era um hotel que sempre tive vontade de conhecer pela ampla divulgação e belas fotos. O objetivo era fazer uma surpresa para a pessoa que estava levando e consequentemente sermos surpreendidos com uma experiência inesquecível. Nunca me apego 100% às avaliações pois acredito depender muito das prioridades da pessoa, mas já estava um pouco receosa por terem avaliações muito positivas e negativas. O hotel tem um custo de diária considerável e por isso as expectativas estavam altas. Reservamos a suite 7 com jacuzzi, andar alto e vista pro mar. A vista do hotel é incrível, lindíssima e isso não tenho o que pontuar. Realmente passa a sensação de privacidade também e ter poucas suítes torna a experiência mais intimista. O hotel está com pessima conservação, claramente Velho e sem reparos. Não usamos a jacuzzi do quarto pois estava com vários sinais de ferrugem, percebemos também toalhas manchadas e poeira no chão. Café da manhã bem escasso com pouquíssimas opções, para pedir apenas ovo tinha disponível. Suco aguado que nem conseguimos identificar o sabor. Margarina na mesa ao invés de minimamente uma manteiga pra comer. Pagamos a massagem de casal achando que teria alguma experiência a mais, nem perto nós dois ficamos, tinha uma separação entre as macas. Massagem também com custo bem acima da média. Um dos motivos que escolhi lá foi por ter restaurante no local e facilitar o jantar, mas eles exigem que o pedido seja feito até 20h. Estávamos sem fome e por isso gostaríamos de jantar um pouco mais tarde, sendo assim tivemos que pedir delivery. Em resumo, vista linda, mas não compensa todos os demais pontos que deixam a desejar numa hospedagem no valor que cobram e no padrão das fotos que usam pra divulgar. Não recomendo e não voltaria.
