Homelands Guest House

I stayed at Homelands Guest House whilst working in the area, over a three month period and it was the perfect place to come back to after a long day. The rooms were spotless, comfortable and quiet, the breakfasts excellent, and the Italian evening meals, truly exceptional. The hosts, Glenda and Daniele, couldn't have been more welcoming and I thank them again for their excellent hospitality. A great location, fantastic hospitality, and somewhere I'd happily stay again. Highly recommended.

I spent three months working in the Barnard Castle area and was delighted to find Homelands Guest House where I stayed during that time. The hosts Glenda and Daniele were very friendly and couldn’t have been more welcoming. All rooms are spotless, comfortable and quiet, making it a great place to come back to after work. The breakfasts were good and the Italian evening meals a real highlight of the stay. There is parking directly outside the property and local shops and county walks only a stroll away. A great location, fantastic hospitality, and somewhere I'd happily stay again. Highly recommended.

Homelands is a superior, small guest house, centrally located, with street parking outside. The guest house is run by a delightful, helpful, efficient, young couple from Tuscany. My room was spotlessly clean and comfortable; the bathroom was excellent. There is also a guests' lounge. Breakfast was excellent. Highly recommended.

Good location. Friendly host when dealing with us but she left us to our privacy which we liked. The rooms were very clean. Towels were presented nicely on a shelf. Breakfasts were freshly made. The full English was very good with locally sourced food. The special yoghurt was a good continental option with all good ingredients like chia seeds. Easy walking into the town. Parking on the street was no problem. We booked as a base for a wedding. Taxis were no problem but if during the week we were asked to book in advance by the taxi firm.

Such a lovely, homely place, well run and comfortable. It's our fourth visit in as many years. We can't fault it. We recommend you stay there!

Just had a lovely two night stay at Homelands Guest House. Our room was excellent. The hosts are lovely. The food is delicious, all a perfect combination. We will definitely return to Homelands.

Ideal location for walking around Barnard Castle. High Street within five minutes. Accommodation in perfect order. A warm inviting welcome from Glenda. Room spacious, comfortable and with a full compliment of extras. Dinner can be provided on request. Superb range of menu on offer at very reasonable rates.

We stayed here for 2 nights as we were attending a wedding near by, when I tell you this place felt like a home away from home I mean it! We were greeted with friendly faces and shown to our room, we booked the garden room which we went through the garden to get to and the garden was stunning! Fairy lights at night time made it feel so magical and being in a room that’s away from the rest was great it was lovely and quiet. The room was so lovely, bed comfy we were very cosy, nice big dressing table and mirror which I enjoyed while getting ready! The breakfast was unbelievably tasty! 10/10 for this place I would definitely stay again if we are in the area! Thank you for having us! X

Room 3 at the front of this lovely house was comfortable and quiet. The hosts offer a warm welcome, and an evening meal, cooked to prior order, was absolutely delicious...pork tenderloin. I use public transport, and local buses stop right outside the house, which is in easy walking distance from the Castle and the Bowes Museum. All in all a very pleasant stay, andI would certainly recommend it.
