Exceeded expectations! The service was beyond excellent! We were there on honeymoon and I don’t think there is anything more romantic than the Elewana pioneer camp. The lodge and luxury tents are perched up the mountain with the most spectacular view of the Serengeti plains and rock formations. While enjoying our scotch and whiskey in the main lodge we saw giraffes, elephants, endless impalas, wildebeest and hyenas. We got up close and personal monkeys and baboons, and the hirex. You could hear the lions roaring at night. Most incredibly, nearby the camp just a kilometer away, perched in a tree, we finally spotted the leopard! Our meals were superb and our dinning and table were exquisitely placed in a different part of the camp with gas lanterns providing the perfect ambiance each evening and late at night. The great care and attention to detail Mussa, Marcel, Clinton, and the chef took, truly made our experience beyond memorable. Kudos to Remsi and Saumu for operating truly a unique and indescribable experience that one can only feel while there. We there 3 nights and 4 days.

Everything is perfect. We had wonderful experiences with the camp, service team and guide. In the low season we were almost the only guests. Food was good and with good quality. We had two dinners under the stars with fire. We had our own butler and he was great.

My family and I visited Pioneer camp this April. 2025. The safaris, the food and the team were excellent. We enjoy a lot. We spend 4 nights. The Elewana booking was also very good and always answering all questions. We saw liibs, elephants, leopards, giraffes, buffalos, hyenas, etc. Thanks Pioneer team!

This Camp is amazing. The setting, the camp and the people were wonderful. They treated my family so well. The tents were mini hotel rooms. The food was exceptional. The game drives were breathtaking and the guides were very knowledgeable and thoughtful. Thank you to Jackson for looking after us.

The Pioneer is an amazing experience. The views are to die for and the tents are 5 star. It’s unbelievable how they do great bathrooms, comfy beds and all the luxuries whilst staying close to nature so you feel part of the bush. The food is outstanding with lovely drinks. But most importantly, the staff are so lovely, helpful and kind. Jumo and everyone took so much care of my husband, who has Parkinson’s. This place is the very best. Our guide, Alex, gave us the most wonderful game drives. A 5 star, bucket list experience.

Our tent was luxurious and everything we needed was there .. our chef was excellent and provided us with delicious meals .. our guide Angela was superb , it couldn’t be the same without her , her wide knowledge of animals and excellent driving skills shouldn’t be forgotten.. our house keeper and manager also were very helpful like the rest of the staff …

Pioneer is a lovely tented camp set on the side of a kopje with fabulous views out over the plains. Good food and a very warm welcome await. Hassan looked after me fabulously and Big Fred brightened the day! Tents maybe getting a little jaded and I’d think it’s at its best in the dry season as roads were very muddy and grasses high which hindered viewing of the smaller animals. All in all though a fabulous stay to round out an 8 day trip across 4 Elewana properties - all very very good!

Special place, special people, special experience. Can go on and on (just in a few hours in this place) People, place, food, omg! Entire staff was out for our special anniversary night dinner. They are just too good in almost everything. Hakuna matata!

Extremely friendly staff and beautiful views with amazing service and amenities. Hot water and flush toilets in tents! Big Fred and Saji will take care of any problems you may have. Come to the lodge early in the morning to say hello to the Bush Hyraxes :)
