Barcelona Apartment Republica

DO NOT BOOK - I reserved this place for 1 week, and was unable to make the first night due to a flight delay, as a result they sold the room for the remainder of the week with no such offer of relocation across any of their properties and no refund of any of the nights booked. This is unheard of in the industry and is highly unethical.

Nice apartment ok location customer service could be better we booked 3 apartments check in was at 3pm but couldn’t get into one of the rooms until gone 11pm Witch caused distress within group other than that all good

It was a very pleasent stay and we enjoyed the pool at the rooftop. It was central and close to the metrostation.

We spend the WORST 5 nights EVER at Aparthotel La Republica (2 adults and 2 children in apartment 2.5) The apartment, location, check-in service was fantastic. But the nights it was so terrible. It was so noisy and we didn't sleep for 5 nights. There were so many young people/groups sitting at the stairways/common areas talking/laughing all night long. We complained at the reception several times and also asked the young people to be quiet ourselves. The apartment has a night portier and it says in their guidelines that: ALL ACTIVITY IN THE BUILDING'S COMMON AREAS IS FORBIDDEN DURING 9:00 PM TO 10:00 AM, but unfortunately the portier don’t follow close enough. He sits in at ‘cage’ at the entrance and apparently can’t hear (or don’t care) what’s going on. When we addressed the night portier at one point, he told us that he couldn't force them to leave/be quiet.. WHAT??? So we had to ask them, ourselves, to go to sleep or leave for a bar. We asked the portier to do more tours in the common areas, but he just replied that we shouldn’t tell him how to do his job.. On our last night we had to leave for the airport at 03.30am.. I went down to the night portier 3 times between 00.30 am and 01.30 to tell him there were young guys in the common areas again again. This time he did a tour and it help for like 10-15min. until the next group of young people came. All the young people was quite polite and said ‘I sorry’, when we confronted them. It was simply young people having fun. The sound insulation in this building is so bad, so unless you want to stay awake all night or can sleep from anything, I suggest you find another place to stay. Really a pity as everything else is perfect. We really had the worst holiday in Barcelona due to lack of sleep

Took my 3 children for 3 nights. Basic apartment, perhaps slightly small for 4 of us. Fab location- 15 mins walk to beach, 2 mins to lacuna metro and 7 mins to supermercado. Could hear underground at night so may impact light sleeper - didn't bother us, was otherwise quiet neighbourhood. Reception barely manned so unable to leave bags with them at checkout, as promised - my one grumble. Strictly instructions re cleaning afterwards to ensure deposit returned but this was fine and received 2 days after departure. Pool very small but okay for dip to cool off. Communication with company prior to arrival was excellent.

We really enjoyed.The room was cozy and beautiful. Everything you needed was in the room. The location is very good both to shops and to the sea.
