NNevertityThe hotel is a classic building itself and the surrounding area is very peaceful and beautiful. The breakfast is very good and eating by the window is so wonderful. Except the bathtub which my room did not have, the hotel is a good place to stay.

TTamuAbsolutely amazing stay , as soon as we arrived everything was great and customer service was brilliant . They even upgraded us to a room with a hot tub for my husbands birthday. Spa was lovely and even on the checkout day can use it to 1pm which was a nice bonus. We ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent and so good only had to walk 30 seconds from our room. Will definitely be back to visit again!

TTamuThe Macdonald Old England Hotel is well situated, being just a stones throw from the lakeside and the shops in Bowness.
The staff are friendly and obliging and the service matches their attitude.
The breakfasts are fine, although the staff can sometimes be a bit slow in replenishing the tureens.
We did not use the Spa, so we cannot comment on that.
Overall, we found the hotel to have all the facilities that we were lookling for and we would be happy to stay there again.

MMiranda☺️I recently stayed at the Woodlands Hotel in the Lake District, and I was very pleased with the experience. First of all, the breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of options including fresh salmon, which was a nice touch. The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable, giving it a homely feel. The hotel is also in a convenient location, with a nearby bus stop that makes it easy to reach the main attractions in the Lake District. Overall, it’s a great value hotel with attentive service. Highly recommended!
