Nice big room, friendly, good breakfast, quiet.

We had a nice stay.

Having read the reviews we could see this would be a pleasant place to night stop. And the reviews were not wrong! Delightful property and despite being in the main road into town, parking was extremely easy and safe right outside. Being a historic building it is very substantial and once inside there is no noise from the road. Our room was delightful and had direct access to the garden, which contains a large swimming pool (not in use at the time of our visit in May). Large, light and airy and decorated in attractive style. The bed was extremely comfortable. The host was very friendly and welcoming and spoke more English than we do French, so communication was fine! In the morning she prepared a fine breakfast including local jams which was taken in a dining room/library where we enjoying talking with a French couple also passing through. Bar-le-Duc itself is one of those places you wouldn’t necessarily plan to visit in itself, but was en-route for our journey to Italy. And it turned out to be fascinating - a walk up into the high old town (c15th) is well worth it. All in all highly recommended. Thank you for such a pleasant stay.

Perfect quiet stop for the traveller passing through, or perhaps enjoying a getaway in this attractive historic small city. There’s no hotel sign on the street but once you’ve found the villa, Madame is welcoming and efficient. She doesn’t speak much English, we don’t speak much French, but all was well & she called to make restaurant reservations after sharing her list of suggestions with us. We stayed in the bedroom pictured - comfortable bed and duvet, spotless bathroom with shower and bath. The continental breakfast included was excellent - a basket of baked goods, bowl of fruit, natural yoghurts, fresh baguette, homemade jams, and coffee with hot milk. Merci Madame!

Wir haben zwei Nächte im Appartement Hygge verbracht und waren sehr zufrieden: sehr freundlicher Empfang, große Ferienwohnung in top Zustand, geschmackvoll restauriertes Haus aus dem 18.Jhd (typisch für Bar-le-duc). Auch das Frühstück war hervorragend! Das einzige Manko ist, dass das Haus an einer Durchgangsstraße liegt, und man die Fenster der Schlafzimmer nachts schließen muss, wenn man lärmempfindlich ist.

Nous avons séjourné une nuit avec notre petit bébé de 11 mois dans la jolie chambre Céleste de cette demeure et nous avons été accueillis de manière très agréable et personnalisée par le propriétaire. Cette chambre est vraiment magnifique et son petit plus est qu'elle donne directement accès sur la terrasse et la piscine car elle est au rez de chaussée. Nous avons pu profiter de la piscine, très appréciable en juillet et nous avons pu dîner avec l'offre de bocaux et boissons proposée, très pratique. Vraiment je recommande cette chambre d'hôte, les propriétaires sont aux petits soins et la maison est particulièrement bien conçue.

Très bon accueil, très propre, belle maison, de plus le petit déjeuner est complet, avec des produits frais. La literie est très contable, jolis draps blanc impeccables Bravo, nous reviendrons avec plaisir lors de notre prochain séjour à Bar le duc où il y a tellement de belles choses à voir! Que dire de plus? Rien, tout est bien
