Ayathorn Bangkok

I was looking forward to stay at a more upscale hotel in the Khaosan area. Especially because of the reviews I my expectations were on the higher end. Unfortunately the stay fell way below my expectations. The assigned room and hotel corridors were much darker than expected - not in a cozy way. Even though the property is rather new, everything outside of the room felt a bit dated already (non pleasant hallway smell, carpet stains). Room was super clean though and had all amenities needed. The staff was friendly but not super welcoming (except for the breakfast staff and the front desk lady at checkout; super nice). For a property in this price range I‘ve had so much better experiences all over Bangkok. What I also found strange was the limited service hours for the front desk (22:00) and room service (20:00?!). I assume the hotel runs on low capacity due to the construction outside, but it feels like it either has not opened yet or might close down soon. When you arrive after 10pm you have to use the side entrance. I didn’t take any pictures, which should be saying a lot. Positive things: Room and housekeeping. Maybe the good reviews were from years before but they don’t do the property or the price range justice. If the price was around 2000-2500 baht per night, I wouldn’t complain, but for 3500/night it‘s really not worth it and you can find much better places in the area and Bangkok in general.

I absolutely loved the stay at Ayathorn. The location is perfect for first time travelers to Bangkok, as it’s super close to all key Temples and attractions. Lots of nice cafes and restaurants also near, as well as walking distance to Chinatown and Khaosan Road. Staff is brilliant, rooftop pool super beautiful, rooms super good, with lovely soft towels. Strongly recommended!

This was my second stay at this hotel, and once again, it exceeded expectations. The rooms were exceptionally clean and very quiet, providing a peaceful environment ideal for rest. I stayed in a room with a balcony overlooking the river, which created a truly relaxing atmosphere with a lovely ambience. The room was spacious and well-appointed, featuring a large flat-screen TV, a comfortable couch, and a genuine king-size bed. The wash basin design was quite stylish, adding a touch of elegance. Amenities provided were sufficient and thoughtfully arranged. Breakfast was excellent, offering a wide variety of high-quality options. Room service was prompt, and the pricing was reasonable. The rooftop pool is absolutely stunning — a perfect spot to unwind with great views. The location is convenient, about a 15-minute walk to Khaosan Road. There are several restaurants and a 7-Eleven nearby, making it easy to grab a quick bite or anything else you may need. Overall, this hotel offers great value for money. I would gladly return and recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

The room itself and amenities were great, but there’s a constant construction happening right in front of the hotel because a new MRT station is being built.

Very comfortable and quiet room (Executive King Room). Staff was very friendly and accommodating.
