Terrible experience - lots of saprophytes and dust in a very cold room. Everything look old and moldy. On the other side, the hotel in centrally located on the main street of Bandipur. From outside looks similar to others - very artificial. Look for diffrent one …

Real character old fashioned hotel, staff very pleasant, rooms basic but great location and amazing views of the mountains, breakfast and dinner very good, right on the Main Street Collect bags, clean, en-suite and hot water, real liked the village

We have just spent 1 night at the hotel as part of an escorted tour of Nepal. Bandipur is a small town with lots of rustic charm and the Gaun Ghar fitted right in. The hotel is quite basic but that added to its charm. The hotel is situated along a pedestrian roadway so guests have to access their hotel by walking along the roadway. The hotel is a converted house with quaint rooms, just shutters at the windows (no glass) the bed was a little hard by western standards and there was no air con but there was a floor standing electric fan to cool the room. The management and staff were excellent and we're so helpful. The staff of which there were a few ladies were insistent on carrying our luggage up the wooden staircase to our rooms. The food was simple but excellent. Bandipur was a lovely quaint town and it would have been nice to have stayed for 1 or 2 days more.

This is a old fashioned quaint hotel in the middle of a pedestrianised area of Bandipur so no traffic noise to disturb you. Great view from small courtyard at the back. The meals were nice, choice was limited but it is a small hotel. Staff were excellent especially the woman in charge. Nice old fashioned building and everything was clean

If you are looking for somewhere different and authentic to stay to break up your journey between Kathmandu & Pokhara then this is an experience you won't forget. We only stayed for 1 night which is enough given there isn't much to do in Bandipur and we were made to feel very welcome & the staff helped us celebrate our silver wedding anniversary which was a lovely touch. The building is very old and so creaky but given we were the only guests it was very quiet. The food was delicious. Would definitely recommend.

Authentic old style hotel with fabulous food and service. Rooms have stunning views of the Himalayas. Rooms were lovely staying true to the authentic style with modern facilities. I was made very welcome and every member of staff made me feel very welcome.

I stayed here for one night. The hotel is located very centrally in the main trafffic-free bazaar area of Bandipur. It is a lovely period property and my room had a mountain view, though the Himalayas were a bit hazy. The room was full of character and period features. There was an electric blanket to keep me warm at night: it is quite cold here in February. I had lunch, dinner and breakfast at the Hotel and the meals were superb. Breakfast was outside on the roof terrace. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

We only stayed one night here visiting the charming and scenic Bandipur. The hotel itself is simple and the rooms are quite basic but it has a real sense of history given the age of the building. The owner was very really friendly and the overall service was exceptional. Dinner al fresco in the terrace was a real highlight of our holiday. The food was superb and the romantic ambience unsurpassed. A really great experience.
