Sheep Island View Hostel and Conference Center

I have stayed in many hostels throughout the years and I am sorry to say this was my worst experience. The lack of security and safety for guests is concerning. The fire alarm rang early in the night and the owners, who seem to live in a nearby house, were unaware of the alarm until a guest physically notified them. They then turned it off, however there appeared to be no fire drill procedure in place which is worrying. There was a group of young teens staying at the hostel who were let run riot throughout the night. There was no staff on hand to control noise levels making sleep impossible. The rooms were nothing special with many damages throughout. Furthermore, Ballintoy itself has very little to offer in terms of restaurants and pubs. Avoid this place and keep looking for alternative accommodation.

Had the most amazing time here. If you're looking for genuine warmth and hospitality then you must stay here. Stunning location. Our group were treated like family.....especially for breakfas.t Thanks Aileen from all at E&E Expeditions.

I had the most wonderful stay with Josephine and Aileen at their huge lovely modern clean spacious and well located hostel and who certainly put the "a" into accommodating in more ways than none.From the lovely welcome till when i left i felt perfectly welcome and at home. The place was warm and cosy,the kitchen was fully equipped,the rooms were just perfect and if you needed assistance,help was just close by beside the hostel. The view from the hostel is just amazing and your only a 10-15 walk from that fabulous Ballintoy rope bridge. Buses are on the doorstep and you can grab a meal at 1 of the 2 local pubs. I don't normally return anywhere after i visit a place however i will make an exception for this 1 special place.
